The views from the back decks are awesome and something you would expect a picture on the cover of any travel magazine. If you want million dollar views this is your place.

Excellent localization with the best views imaginable. Two spacious balconies offer wonderful space to relax and enjoy the mountains. The house is charming, especially a living space with huge window wall and lots of comfortable seating - recliners and sofas. The kitchen is equipped with all the important basics and I could easily prepare my meals, morning coffee etc.

Durango Paradise

We had a wonderful stay at the property. The view of the valley is magnificent every morning. Th host was great to work with. We used the patio several times to have coffee in the morning or cocktails in the evening. Great to have some fans as it was a little warm in the afternoon.

Magnificent Setting

This is a beautiful home in a magnificent setting. I'm convinced this house has the best view on the mountain-top. There was nothing that we lacked in comfort. Regret not spending more time just sitting on the deck.

Amazing stay in SW Colorado

First time in SW Colorado and this location, between Durango and Silverton, was perfect. Beyond being close to amazing hikes and breathtaking scenery, the property and the surrounding houses are situated among the trees so you really do feel like you’re away from it all. You can keep Vail and Telluride. This is the way to Colorado.

Very quiet, beautiful view, great area, cleanliness OK.

Beautiful area, great view in a very nice neighborhood. The coffee maker did not work well and needs to be replaced. The home shows its age but in good condition. The furniture was dusty and we had to wash the sheets in the guest bed because they were dirty and did not appear clean. The carpets and the couches need a good cleaning. Overall we had a good stay, our main issue was the cleanliness and the cookware was old and "very" used.

This review is a surprise, especially considering the reviews which precede it. We were booked solid in the five weeks before this party arrived so the house had been cleaned a number of times since a Spring deep cleaning in April. At least half of the bedding provided was new in May. We will take up all of these issues in a review with our cleaners, and do our best in the future to satisfy as many of our guests as possible.

Most amazing view!

Paul was a great host to work with and very quick to respond to my emails when I had questions. The cabin is not fancy, but it is clean and comfortable with, by far, the most incredible view, both from inside the cabin and outside from the deck. It is definitely a little piece heaven and God’s country, so peaceful. There is nothing bad I can say about this cabin and I would love to come back.

Awesome place to stay!!

Absolute great place to stay!! Spectacular views, wonderful home with expansive deck and second living quarters if you need them. Plenty of cookware, plates, glassware and utensils. Large great room with HUGE picture windows. Very clean and private. Paul and Mary were gracious and attentive hosts and we couldn't have asked for more (they even shipped a blanket that my son forgot!!). Simply can't say enough good things about them! If you're looking to explore both Durango and Silverton and want to be halfway between, this is THE place to be!! Highly recommended!

Wonderful property and location!

We really enjoyed staying at Paul and Mary's home in the mountains near Durango. It is a lovely home and very comfortable, and the neighborhood is secluded and quiet. Having come up from Texas where the average temps were in the 100s just before our trip, we were delighted to have 45-degree weather in the mornings. The location in general is wonderful, too, and there were many things to do. Paul and Mary do a nice job of providing guidance on places to eat and things to enjoy in the area. It is evident they love their home and they were outstanding hosts. I'd be happy to recommend this home to anyone looking to stay in the area - especially if you have teenagers (the separate but close apartment is a GREAT idea!).

A Piece of Heaven

A beautiful home with spectacular views. It was a joy to wake up to sit on the porch and enjoy the scenery. It was perfect for my family of 6. We had everything we needed and the beds were super comfortable! It felt like someone home, in all the good ways- warm and charming.

Excellent Experience!!

This was a great place to stay. Home has great view and in easy drive range of lots of places of interest. Owner was easy to communicate with and very helpful. Look forward to going there again!

This is a spectacular location. The views are absolutely amazing and the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee. We definitely plan on visiting again next summer!

Beautiful view, great stay

The property was comfortable and in a great location. It was a short drive to Durango, Silverton snd Ouray. The view was incredible and relaxing. The owner, Paul, was very easy to work with. We would stay here again.

Beautiful views, house was nice

Really nice older property, everything thing you might need is there. There is another rental really close by so that takes away from the experience. Lake has been drained since 2019 and we were hoping to enjoy water. This wasn't mentioned until close to scheduled visit.

Unfortunately, the second reopening of nearby Electra Lake was postponed once again due to construction delays. We did our best to stay updated with this drawn out project focused on the nearby dam, and directed our guests to a few of the lakes on the way to Silverton. Our cul-de-sac features only two houses, and our neighbor behind us has seldom been a problem. We apologize for any inconvenience.
