The Lake House is a beautiful experience. The owner was very responsive and accommodating. It has everything a traveler would want. Including a "welcome" bottle of wine. The pond is very clean and perfect for swimming ( it does get deep fast which keeps the kids close). Yes, the loons do make the whole experience just that much better. They "scream" and "talk" and are such a great blessing to see. Also, Eagles, herons, osprey, ducks and a few others. The location to anything you might want to do is perfect. You do have to drive the winding roads of the Nor-East but the reward is worth it. From seafood places to the ocean to LL Bean the location can't be beat. Groceries just a mere five miles away. And so much more in between. One caveat, Monday through Friday is just as peaceful as one could imagine. However, come Saturday and Sunday- lookout. All of a sudden the pond shrinks and the population multiplies geometrically. Sea-dos, motor boats and skiers, etc. We don't know the habits/rules of the people in Maine and that could be something everybody who owns lake property knows and accepts. We are very grateful that a place like Loon Pond is available for us to rent. We did love the place and would recommend it to anyone.
