I was in contact with Estelle before our arrival to check a few details and then again as we were driving from Cherbourg. Estelle and her family were waiting for us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the appt plus the pool, bins and area etc.The appt is small but it was fine for the 3 of us. The location is fantastic. It is very close to the local market, the local supermarket, pharmacy, bike rental and of course the beach and pool. The beach is huge so there is no need to find other entry points. We found it was very quiet in the morning but the locals joined after lunch but it was hardly busy. The pool is small and colder water. It only opens from 10:00 to 19:00 which was a little annoying and we were told off by a resident for dipping our feet at 20:00.Be careful with private bikes. We had 3 and locked then together outside the appt. One night, someone stole a seat and post, broke a kick stand and a derailler so we couldn't use 2 of the 3 bikes. The local youngsters make quite a bit of noise EVERY night from about 02:00 - 04:00 (presumably when they have to leave the local bars). It seems they could not talk quietly. The island is lovely. Very flat and ideal for bikes (hire then rather than risk to your own bikes) and we went to see the salt marshes, the lighthouse, Ars en Re market, honey and donkey soap. You can avoid the main roads by following the multitude of bike paths. Air temps were cool in July with high of 25C. We loved it!
