This is the third time we have stayed at GarryUrra over Christmas and the house never disappoints. The setting is idyllic with a gorgeous lake view. The kitchen is well-appointed to cook Christmas dinner for a large group. Our son told us that he was hit by "a wave of nostalgia" visiting the house where he has spent 2 prior Christmas vacations, so we think that says it all.

So incredibly comfortable. Better than I expected. Set directly on the lake. Beautiful woodlands walk right on property. Lovely rose garden with pear tree and grapevines. We settled in for our two week stay and felt very much at home.

We stayed in this property in July 2025 and we really enjoyed it. The house is very private and the view is fantastic!The large kitchen and dining areas made it ideal for us to get our family and friends together. We would stay there again.

Lovely home in idyllic setting

My wife and I came to vacation in Ireland with our 6 children. This was a lovely home that fit us perfectly. We stayed a week and traveled each day to another location to see the SW of the country. Caroline the property manager was very nice and very responsive. The only constructive feedback I would give is that it would be nice to have screens on the bedroom windows. This may not be applicable for the majority of the year, but it was very warm when we stayed, and with no A/C, we wanted to open the windows. But as most of the rooms did not have screens, it was difficult with the insects. The room over the garage is particularly hot in the summer time.

Hemos pasado una semana increible en una casa de ensueño. La atención previa de Margaret ha sido perfecta, dándonos todas las indicaciones e información que le hemos solicitado, además d emultitud de sugerencias sobre sitios donde ir. Después Caroline ha estado a nuestra disposición, pero la verdad es que no nos ha hecho falta porque todo estaba perfecto. La casa es de ensueño, amplia, confortable y con unas vistas de cuento. El entorno de la casa es precioso y tranquilo. Una estancia maravillosa que sin duda recomendaría. Muchas gracias por todo!

Lakeside sanctuary

The setting is lovely and we enjoyed exploring the Lough Derg region. Beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was a delight to cook in. We felt secure and serene.

Fabulous week in Garryurra

An absolute gem of a property with outstanding views (even on a rainy day). The house is beautifully decorated with all mod cons and very comfortable furniture. Enough space for everyone. The nearest large town is quite close by despite the rural location. We would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to 'get away from it all' and relax in beautiful surroundings. The gardens in particular are award winning with an idyllic stream running through it, with a small private forest to explore while going on a Bear Hunt or search for the Gruffalo or relaxing in secret garden.

Luxurious well-appointed property

Returning from the U.S. to visit my family for Christmas, I persuaded the rest of my family to join my partner, my son, and me at this beautiful lakeside house for a short stay over Christmas. I can't say enough good things about this house. It is perfectly situated on the banks of Lough Derg near Puckane, Co. Tipperary. The weather was kind to us and there were plenty of opportunities for walks in the environs of the house. The house itself was very well equipped, spacious, immaculate, and very pleasant for up to 10 people to stay with an en suite for pretty much every bedroom. Highly recommended.

The property has just undergone a total refurbishment and is on the market for renting since April 2018. The house has four ensuite bedrooms, very large well equipped kitchen, large dining room with double doors to Lounge. There is plenty of outdoor space including a walled garden, water features, large terrace/patio with garden furniture. There is a private jetty and spectacular views of the Lough Derg .
