At check-in it seemed we were unexpected, though we'd followed the host's instructions. He was not there, so the housekeeper Serafina and her husband, who were VERY friendly and helpful, let us in. The listing was inaccurate for us, as we were given access to one bedroom and one bath, though 3 of each is listed on VRBO and what we expected. It was explained they only set up one bedroom and the pull-out sofa because they was no air conditioning upstairs and our party of 3 was small. It was a thoughtful consideration that could have been communicated with a text or email prior to our arrival. We returned from dinner the first night to find the door lock wasn't working and we couldn't get inside. After messaging Serafina, she and her husband responded quickly, graciously driving from their own evening at home to help. They provided keys to get in through another door and said we could check out the rest of the house, which led to the other 2 bedrooms and bathrooms in the listing. We left a day early to spend time with friends out of town. We recommend this property (especially to Italian-speaking guests, as there was a language barrier to good communication). Archi & surrounding areas are beautiful! The home has a fascinating family history and has been lovingly restored. Serafina and her family went out of their way to make us comfortable and feel welcome! We're grateful for their gracious hospitalilty and understanding.
