The beaches and waves in North County San Diego and particularly in Encinitas are unique. If you want mild weather (most of the time) and great beaches, this is the place. One block to the beach is a short walk but you can also walk to restaurants, coffee houses, bars, and shopping.
Interstate 5 is an eight-lane north/south freeway that goes through San Diego to the Mexican border to the south and goes through the western United States to Vancouver Canada to the north. It is your main road to many attractions throughout Southern California.
The 101 bus is just two blocks away and can take you to many more places along Pacific Coast Highway. For longer excursions on rapid transit, the train station is one mile away with ample parking and a bus stop. The Coaster train runs from downtown San Diego to Oceanside and Amtrak from San Diego through Anaheim and downtown Los Angeles ending in San Luis Obispo. If you go to San Diego (by train, bus, or car) there is an extensive tram and bus system that can take you just about anywhere in the San Diego Metropolitan area.
You can find a new activity every day or you can spend hours at the beach or both. What a wonderful place to be!
