We stayed at Trevillis for a week with our teenage sons. The location was absolutely beautiful, the views from the balconies were breathtaking and the property was very comfortable, apart from a few little issues. The mattress on one of of the single beds was quite worn and concave in shape making it quite uncomfortable. We were lucky the weather was good because there was no obvious source of heat in the cottage. There was a gas fire, but I couldn’t work out if it was actually connected. I searched for instructions (amongst the plethora of manuals from years gone by for equipment that was no longer in the cottage), but I could not find one for the gas fire. There were radiators, but I think the boiler and controls were behind a locked door. It was a bit chilly in the mornings until the sun came up. Unlike other places we have stayed, there was not much extra equipment in the kitchen, eg. No cling film, polythene bags, kitchen roll, salt, and only one bin bag which we filled up very quickly. When my husband had a shower on the first morning, the water came through the ceiling below and dripped down off the light fitting on to the utility room floor. We reported it straight away and the very pleasant lady we contacted said maybe we hadn’t shut the doors properly and to try again being careful to ensure that they were shut. We did this and the water still came through the ceiling. I Contacted her again and said we were happy for them to come in and fix it if they wanted to. Apparently they did not, because no one came and so we had to use the bath all week. The other shower was also faulty as the temperature could not be changed. Unfortunately it was set too cold for my sons who found it a bit disappointing.
These issues did not detract too much from our enjoyment of the holiday and despite them, we thought the cottage was really lovely and would stay again, provided the showers were fixed!
