Thank you for the feedback, Susan. I'm glad you enjoyed your getaway! You’re right about the steps…those panoramic views you see in the photos come from being perched high up off the water. It’s a lovely vista, but not ideal for someone with severe arthritis or mobility issues. I have to admit being a bit surprised at first by the housekeeping concerns, as other guests have noted how clean they felt everything was. This is why, after reading your comments, I reached out to you directly for more details. I greatly appreciate you getting back to me by email so that I could address any issues immediately (before the next guests arrived). To summarize your comments, you noted seeing a spider and some dead insects, bird droppings on (the exterior of) the patio door, and (what you called “the most jarring thing”), a bathmat that would no longer lie flat and probably needed replacing. While I’m sorry these troubled you, I was glad to know that everything else seemed to be in good shape: dusted and vacuumed, sinks & toilet clean, fridge & microwave scrubbed out, bedding clean, etc. Based on your comments, the housekeeper replaced the bathmat with a new one and will be more vigilant going forward to get rid of any intrusive spiders or bugs while she is there. And while she doesn't have time to wash windows each time she is there, she will certainly pay more attention to the patio door. Don't want to ruin those views! I'm so glad you all had a nice time! The comment about your daughters on the dock remind me of when my sister and I used to swim, fish and sunbathe there when WE were teenagers.
