Fabulous stay !

We had the most fantastic week at the cottage the weather was kind to us . The cottage was immaculately clean , so comfortable in every way thank you for the thoughtful touch of fresh flowers and the bottle of wine which was most welcome. There was everything you need in the cottage . It was one of the best cottages we have stayed inn. Well situated for many walks from the door , also Whitby was not that far . Stunning scenery .We will be back !!Thank you

Nice cottage in very quiet location

Enjoyable stay in this quiet area of the moors. Clean, well equipped and maintained. Only slight quibble was not enough hot water for a bath as the water heating was controlled by a range cooker which we aren't used to. But overall a lovely place to stay and would recommend.

A couple of nights away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

It's difficult to express how perfect this cottage was for my hubby and I to disappear to for a couple of days. The property was beautifully presented, clean, comfortable and delightful added extras : fresh flowers on the dining table, all you need to make a loaf in the breadmaker, milk and a bottle of wine. Everything was sparkling, the towels and bed linen were high quality and beautifully laundered. The position of the cottage was an escape. On the edge of the small hamlet of Spaunton and approx 3/4 mile away from Lastingham. We awoke to the sounds of nature, sheep, birds, neighbouring ducks and geese. We highly recommend The Blacksmiths Arms in Lastingham. A warm welcome on a chilly January evening. The food was amazing and the locals were incredibly welcoming. We feel privileged to have spent some time in North Yorkshire in such a beautiful cottage. We would highly recommend to any couple wanting to get away from it all.

Second visit and all as wonderful as before. Fantastic location and the cottage is simply beautiful. Had small problem with no hot water and couldn't get hold of owner so phoned holiday company for help and problem dealt with within a few hours - brilliant. Would certainly recommend and hope to go back for visit number three! Thank you Judi and Jim.

A beautiful cottage right on the Yorkshire moors, some days it felt like we were truly on our own. Lovely walks right from the door and everything was really good! We would thoroughly recommend this cottage and area to everyone who loves the countryside, we loved seeing the sheep roaming all over the roads too. Beautiful comfortable bed and the shower was perfect! Are you packed already? You should be! It was a lot bigger than the pictures made it look!

Comfortable cottage, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Spacious for a cottage for 2. Well placed for visiting the North Yorkshire Moors. Our holiday would have been perfect had the weather been kind, rained every day but didn't keep us in.

The location for us was ideal, on the edge of a hamlet, quiet, with beautiful views and many walks from the door. It had everything we needed, was warm, spotlessly clean, and we found cooking on the Rayburn no problem at all. We have been to this area many times before but we still found new and interesting walks which didn't require the use of the car at all. In fact, we pretty much parked up and left the car there except for a trip to buy a Yorkshire Post newspaper! Three pubs are within pleasant walking distance, at Appleton, Lastingham and Hutton Le Hole. Cafes and home made chocolate at Hutton are recommended too. We were lucky enough to have beautiful, warm weather in February and enjoyed our holiday here very much. Next time we stay , we hope to find time to further explore the history of all the surrounding attractive and ancient villages.

Love staying here. Complete getaway. Really relaxing. 2 pubs in walking distance. About 2 or 3 miles away in Lastingham and Hutton Le Hole. Both excellent food at lunchtime. Walk back to the cottage and spend the evening with a book.
