Woodstock Paradise with Gardens & Private Heated Pool (seasonal)

COME VISIT OUR COZY HOME WITH BEAUTIFUL FIREPLACE. LOVELY PRIVATE POOL, HOUSE & GARDEN IN SEASON.

Our charming, cozy and comfortable 2-bedroom 1 bath house is inside the small town of Woodstock, and a 7-minute walk to the Village Green, or 2 min drive. Great location for winter sports and warming up by our exquisite bluestone fireplace. In season, heated swimming pool surrounded by forest and gardens open for summer guests (heating optional). Our indoor space is a cottage-like private home with skylights, nestled among the tranquil forest and really close to the quaint but lively village of Woodstock and yet super peaceful and quiet. House and pool are surrounded by gorgeous perennial gardens creating a calm, enchanting environment. Quiet and peaceful, yet close to Woodstock town restaurants and boutiques, our location offers the best of both worlds. Recommended for a couple, small family, or 3 friends who enjoy tranquility, art on the walls, lovely garden sitting areas, and swimming in outdoor pool.

Enticing decks with seating allows for barbecues or fire-pit gathering year round. Inside, a claw tub in the skylight and bay-windowed bathroom is perfect for de-stressing with bath salts (no standup shower but shower-head provided for water spray). A front bay window full of plants faces the front deck as well as this lovely bath.

For cold nights, we offer our bluestone fireplace (now a smoke free inset with sealed glass door provides lovely wood heat). House has great winter lighting and ample shade in summer. AC in summer is available for an additional fee. Regular oil-furnace heat is also available for winter.

Beautiful screened windows open out to private forest views.

Cook delicious meals in our simple but fully equipped kitchen with granite counters and Spanish tile floors, or use the cast-iron barbecue outside. Enjoy nights of stargazing on our deck with the telescope, while eating at the outdoor table with chairs and fold-out lounges. Or use the fire pit in its garden location.

The 30-foot pool was built in 2020 for summer-season swims and lounging. It's gorgeous gardens are growing too.

You can also take a 5 minute walk down the road to the Woodstock Millstream swim holes.

Consider taking a walk in the woods following the Town of Woodstock paths through the Comeau Property forests along the Millstream. It takes 5 min. to drive to the trailhead.

This is our real weekend home! We are not realtors but New York City professors who love books, art, writing, and the quiet of our special house. We love to share it with like-minded people when traveling. Come and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. Excellent space for writers and artists seeking a retreat. Please note: house contains lots of books, original art, and antiques from France.

Musicians may play our lovely piano, or have magical meals on our antique French table or, in better weather, out on the deck. Or take a stroll into the heart of the Woodstock village very close by to shop or eat great food. Hear music in local venues for the cost of a drink in places like the Colony in town.

Don't miss this opportunity to relax by the pool, on the decks surrounded by flowers and greenery, with sumptuous views of the forest. We do think this is a PARADISE. It is especially welcoming to artists, writers, people who enjoy hiking, swimming, and other local sports in the Woodstock area. Or if you just want to hang around and read. Guests who seek a tasteful and artsy non-suburban setting that is amazingly calming and private will love our home. Our guests always tell us how peaceful and relaxing our place is.

The master bedroom contains a super-comfortable natural mattress in KING size. The second bedroom contains a twin day bed, and also doubles as a reading-writing den space.

Polished wood floors are laid with authentic Persian carpets (sometimes removed in summer months), Our calm living room opens up to skylights and a bay window. Relaxing chairs and rockers are located multiple parts of the house.

The bathroom is charming and simple, with a large claw-tub bath for long soaks and a shower head (hand-held), as well another bay window with hanging plant. We are on well-water regularly checked and filtered. Our equally simple kitchen has authentic Italian tile floors and granite counters, and is fully equipped for real cooking.

Enjoy our superb classical / jazz CD collection, as well as turntable for historic vinyls (organized in living room closet).

Because our house is located on a private drive off a low-traffic road, it is very quiet -- yet with quick access to Village activities.

We are animal lovers. One pet is allowed during your stay (ONE well-trained dog or cat). Please advise us in advance of your furry friend. ALL PETS MUST BE APPROVED IN ADVANCE. If you are opting for the CAT-CARE DISCOUNT, our own loving cats will be in residence and so we ask that you not bring a competing pet, like a dog or cat. But we will consider all requests.
