Countryside villa close to coast

We all enjoyed our stay, a comfortable spacious house with great views to the hills and the sea, only a few minutes drive to the coast. Nice pool and great TV. Great communication with the property manager and well looked after by Dimitris.

Beautiful views and amazing hospitality!

We had an amazing time at dimitris villa it was really lovely. Dimitris was very welcoming and unobtrusive during our stay. He has 2 lovely friendly dogs who welcomed us home every day. The villa was comfortable and clean although a bit worn in some parts but that was expected and was not a problem. We had all the amenities we needed and the pool was fab after a hot day. There are the most amazing views over the mountains and the sea from the villa which made our stay so special. Thanks so much x

A lovely rustic traditional Greek Villa. Located in the hills overlooking the Platanius town area. Good size rooms with pretty much everything you need for your stay. Probably one of the best views from a terrace we’ve had on our villa holidays. A sea view in one direction and sunset off to the other. One of the most peaceful and tranquil places you can be. 1hr 30 mins from Elafonissi beach & 45 mins from Falasarna beach by car, two of the best beaches in Crete. Or 30mins to Kissamos harbour where you can take a boat Trip to Balos beach for the day. Only small criticisms would be is the Villa could do with a little bit of money spent in places and the pool for adults, is very shallow, around 4ft (if that) but for us, it didn’t stop us loving the place. The owner is a nice old chap who lives in a small annexed part of the property at the back. He’s always about if you need him but never in your way. We really liked Lola his dog who spent a lot of time with us on our terrace also. Overall, this villa is located in a great area, is a great size and has some of the best views you can hope for on a Villa holiday. I wouldn’t hesitate to rebook it if I were to revisit this area and definitely recommend it to others.

Wir hatten als Familie einen ganz tollen Aufenthalt in Dimitris' Haus und können es uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.Wichtig zu wissen, man sollte einen eigenen (Miet)wagen haben, da es sonst doch zu abgelegen für andere Transportwege wäre.Das Haus hat einen Pool und durch die erhöhte Lage einen fantastischen Blick über das Land runter zum Meer, der abends vom Sonnenuntergang gekrönt wird.Lola, Dimitris Hund, begrüßte uns, wenn wir nach Ausflügen zur Unterkunft zurückkehrten, immer mit Vorfreude und Dimitris Gastfreundschaft war vorbildlich, wenn wir uns gelegentlich sahen.Rundum ein sehr schöner Urlaub und Aufenthalt.Vielen Dank

Magnifiques vacances

La villa PAPOURA était totalement à la hauteur de nos espérances. Située dans une oliveraie et bercée par le chant des cigales, la villa typiquement crétoise vous offrira détente, calme, sérénité, un brin de fraîcheur dans la piscine lors des retours d’excursions, une vue magnifique et d’extraordinaires couchés de soleil. Elle est idéalement placée pour visiter la côte ouest de l’île et ses environs. Nous recherchions un pied à terre typiquement crétois et nous avons été ravis et conquis. Dimitri veillera à ce que vous ne manquiez de rien, sa Rakia et son Huile d’olives gentiment offertes sont excellentes. Il est de très bons conseils. Lola et Lana (notre petit loukoum) vous tiendront gentiment compagnie. Que dire de plus à part que la villa PAPOURA nous accompagnera dorénavant dans nos meilleurs souvenirs. Villa with Beautiful Views

The villa had everything and more that was advertised, It was clean and spacious. The views were out of this world and the Sunsets are amazing. Close to shops and restaurants, 25min walk down but taxi back up or 5 mins in the car. Lola & Vana are such lovely and welcoming dogs - owner on call. We have booked for next year as it was so good Annemarie & party of 4

Excellente Lage mit sensationeller Aussicht

Die Lage der Villa, ausserhalb des Touristenrummels und dennoch in 5 Minuten am Sandstrand, ist genial. Die Aussicht vom Garten und der Terrasse ist unschlagbar. Auch der Pool ist sehr sauber und gepflegt. Die Villa liegt ruhig und sehr gut für diverse Ausflüge. Der Eigentümer Dimitris wohnt mit seinen zwei zutraulichen Hunden, in einer kleinen Wohnung gleich hinter dem Haus. Er ist sehr freundlich, diskret, hilfsbereit und hat uns für den ersten Morgen mit Lebensmittel versorgt . Olivenöl, Wein und Raki standen auch für uns bereit. Das Haus ist sehr gross und bietet viel Platz vor allem im Wohn-/Esszimmer. Die Schlafzimmer sind sauber bezogen. Allerdings sollte man bei Gelegenheit gewisse Dinge, wie durchgelegene Liegestühle und verrosteter Kochherd ersetzten. Die Küche ist eher spärlich ausgerüstet, dennoch ein Geschirrspüler ist vorhanden. Die Villa hat viel Charm und bekommt mit den beiden Hunden ein Herz und eine Seele. Wir können das Haus nur empfehlen und würden es auch selber sofort wieder buchen.

A perfect location if you want a quiet and relaxing holiday.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this lovely house on top of the hill. The location is perfect, very quiet and relaxing. A perfect ‘home from home’ in which to unwind. The clear nights give you fabulous views of the Milky Way while sitting on the balcony, glass of wine in hand. The view during the day is just as good, with the white mountains on one side and the hills and sea on the other. The location is approximately 2-3 miles from the sea and restaurants and bars are a plenty in the resorts if that’s what you want. We tended to buy food from the local supermarkets and prepared most of our own meals at the house as there is every thing that you need in the kitchen in which to do so. The owner is very generous and his dogs were always there to greet you when you came home from a day out. We will certainly miss them. Villa Papoura is also a perfect location from which to explore the western end of Crete. There is so much to see and having a car is a must for this property if you want see the beautiful sights that this part of Crete has to offer This was our first visit to this property and indeed Crete but we will definitely be returning to both. Thank you Dimitris and Fabio for making our holiday so enjoyable.

Heerlijke vakantiewoning met het mooiste uitzicht!

Wij hebben met onze twee kinderen van 18 en 13 jaar een geweldige tijd gehad in deze villa. Het uitzicht is zo mooi en elke avond de mooiste zonsondergangen. Van het zwembad ook enorm genoten! Veel plezier gehad met de twee honden van de eigenaar; een zeer gastvrije en vriendelijke man. De omgeving is mooi met schitterende stranden, zoals Falasarna, Elafonisi, Balos beach en Paleochora. Absoluut voor herhaling vatbaar!

Erholung in Xirokambi

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Ein schönes Haus mit viel Platz zum entspannen und relaxen. Die Küchenausstattung sollte mal wieder ergänzt werden, aber da es eine Spülmaschine gibt, ist dies nur als Hinweis gedacht. Die zwei Hunde des Besitzers, welcher ebenfalls auf dem Grundstück wohnt, empfanden wir als etwas störend, da diese sich die ganze Zeit bei uns aufgehalten haben. Das hat unseren Gesamteindruck aber nur wenig gestört, wir können das Haus guten Gewissens weiterempfehlen.

Nice and relaxing Holidays

I stayed with two friends for 2 weeks in this beautiful House. It is the perfect house if you want to forget the Trouble and noise of the city Life. The owner of the House is very kind and was always helpful. The house was very clean and quiet. Think we will come again!!

Schöner Urlaub in den Bergen hinter Chania

Das Häuschen ist zwar schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber insgesamt in einem guten und gepflegten Zustand. Das Haus bietet ausreichend Platz für 6 Personen (2x Doppelbett im Obergeschoss / 1x 2 Einzelbetten im Erdgeschoss). WLAN funktionierte sehr gut. Der Ausblick ist super. Ein Supermarkt befindet sich im nächsten Örtchen. Ein Mietwagen würde ich empfehlen. Der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich und jederzeit hilfsbereit. Ein Highlight waren die beiden Hunde des Besitzers mit denen wir sehr viel Spaß hatten. Wir würden dort gerne wieder unseren Urlaub verbringen.

We had a wonderful holiday . The house is great ; away from the tourist bustle . From the pool and the terrace you can look down to the sea . The pool is well maintained and the owner very nice and relaxed . We would like to come back!

mooi huis rustige plek

Het is een fijn huis met veel leuke hoekjes om te zitten, mooi uitzicht, rustige plek, mooie omgeving, aardige behulpzame eigenaar, wel een auto nodig. Wij hebben er met 4 volwassen kinderen een hele fijne week gehad.
