Wonderful stay! Clean, comfortable, wonderfully provisioned kitchen, fabulous location. Dogs loved the yard and walk to Lloyd's beach, as did we! We loved our one rainy day in front of the fireplace, as well. Hope to come back next year.

Beautiful seaside location

My family and I enjoyed our stay in the cottage. The home was spacious and the six of us felt there was plenty of space. The bedroom and bathrooms on the first floor was perfect for my older mother. She was glad not to have another set of stairs to navigate. The house is old and has a lot of charm and quirks. We spent a lot of time on the porch overlooking the water and enjoyed it throughout the day especially at sunset. The town is very quiet and you need to drive about 15 minutes to restaurants and markets. But that keeps the town quiet and off the beaten path. There’s a secluded beach within walking distance and the owners had beach chairs to use. There’s a beautifully kept lawn but you need to bring your own yard games if you want to utilize the lawn. I’d definitely stay again in the future.

I want to gate keep this place because its SO special, but because the owners seem beyond kind, I also want the word to be out there that this home is perfection. The location couldn't be more perfect, overlooking the sea on the porch was divine and we loved our morning walks to the beach. The home has everything you need and then some, and although its a bit bare bones (in the best way), you will be more than comfortable. Couldn't recommend a place more!

Great experience at seaside cottage in Little Compton

My wife and I along with 2 adult children had a wonderful trip to Little Compton. We were blessed with incredible weather which made the views even better than expected. The cottage was a perfect place and size for our family to unwind, enjoy the ocean breeze, and do all the things we wanted to do while visiting. It was an easy walk to the beach, as well as down to the harbor. Great for us, we'll definitely go back.

Perfect summer getaway

4 old friends and 1 young dog spent July 4th weekend in this absolutely delightful cottage. The house is even lovelier than the photos let on -- stunning views, cozy in the best sense, with lots of bedrooms that are each so appealing it's hard to choose among them. We cooked in on our first night, ate on the porch and watched the fireworks across the bay. It was mostly cloudy the remainder of our stay, but we walked to Lloyd's beach one day, drove to the town beach on another, and loved both. We dined out, played games, drank wine, went for walks and laughed a lot. Warmest thanks to Buck for providing the ideal setting and making it all so effortless. He's a wonderful host, answered our few questions quickly and kindly, and left a welcome note and bottle of wine for us. We are already dreaming of a return visit!

A beautiful view and great house

A perfect house for a family gathering. Near 2 beaches, huge lawn for kite flying and kids to be outside and great view of harbor and Newport off in the distance.

4th of July at Starboard Watch

We spent a great week during the 4th of July at Starboard watch! The property was as pictured if not better - we spent the majority of the time when at the house out on the porch enjoying the views. Kitchen was well appointed and we did use the charcoal grill on nights when we stayed in. For groceries, Wilbur’s General Store in town had basically everything needed without having to travel 30 minutes to Fall River or one of the larger cities for groceries. Buck was very responsive to all messages and checked in with us! We appreciated the area guide with maps to beaches and restaurant recommendations. We spent most of our days at Tappen’s Beach, which is an easy 20 minute walk from the house. Looking forward to our next trip to Little Compton!

The house from hell that was terrible we should never pick

It should have a TV to internet so when you come home you can catch up on the news also no air conditioning luckily we were there when there was a breeze going or we would have been hot as hell would never rent this place again

Beautiful Seaside Cottage

Quintessential ocean view New England Cottage. Gorgeous views. Small beach within walking distance. Larger beach 5-10 minute drive. Lovely quiet surrounding communities. Multiple excellent restaurants. Easy access to Newport and all that it offers. For the fishermen in the crew-good fishing for striper within walking distance at the harbor.

Peaceful and Fablous

The house is just as described. It is lovely and cozy with fabulous views. The porch indeed takes you in and provides an ideal spot to unplug. The view is spectacular early morning and provides a wonderful vista for sunsets. There are nice places to walk nearby and the kitchen is easy to use. I would love to return again!

A Hidden Gem!

We had the loveliest stay! The home is tucked away on a gorgeous property, and I enjoyed daily swims off the swimming rock followed by an outdoor shower. My 90 year old grandmother joined and soaked in the ocean views and breeze from the porch. The town has some gems as well... We got local strawberries off the road and made the most divine strawberry tiramisu. Thank you, Buck and Cady!

This rental property was absolutely amazing, and 100% true to the listing. I spend a long weekend here with friends (and our dog) over Memorial Day. The listing was accurate to description and pictures; SO beautiful. The location was perfect; somewhat secluded with views for days, close to the water where we would have swam if it was warm enough out. The yard is beautiful and clean, perfect for hanging out and taking in the views... sam goes for the porch. The cottage itself is old with so much charm. Though we had a cold weekend, we layered up and had no problems. Beds were comfy, kitchen had all the necessary tools, and the living toom was quaint and cozy. The hosts were just a text away and quick to respond as needed. 20/10, would rent again!!!

Sweet older house in gorgeous location

The house is very pretty and charmingly decorated, and our communication with the kind owners was very easy. The house is, as I believe the listing describes, a bit rustic, which for us meant we were a bit chilly on late June rainy days (the house is not insulated, in keeping with classic summer cottages), found the kitchen a bit old in terms of appliances, etc, and some other aspects of the house felt a bit worn. That said, it felt like a very well-loved and well attended-to home overall (some sprucing up potential notwithstanding), and the location on Sakonnet Point, views, gorgeous large property, many aesthetic charms of the house, and general vibe were lovely. We were delighted to enjoy the spot and our time there. When the sun is shining (or setting!), the sea, rocks, sweeping lawn, sky are just breathtaking, and uplifting. Thanks for a very nice visit!

Another wonderful stay at Starboard Watch

This was our second stay at Starboard Watch, and once again we loved it. The location just can't be beat. The cabin is very rustic, so don't come expecting anything fancy.
