Magical spot

A nine day heavenly first-time stay in Villa Beten Bukit. We know Permuteran well, having stayed there several times in the past, so having snorkelled and boated and seen all the sights before, we were happy this time to simply enjoy. And what a beautiful place to enjoy! It is a gorgeous villa in a magical spot. We lazed about and chatted and read, lolled in the pool several times a day, stared at the lotus pond and the garden and the mountains and the moon and the stars, counted the dragonflies, butterflies and birds, listened to the mix of gamelan and the call to prayer, and to the quiet sounds of villagers' comings and goings. We walked down the local laneway for 20-25 minutes every day, everyone very friendly saying hello along the way, then had lunch by the sea. We chose to get a taxi/car most evenings to have dinner down there too, though also stayed home a few nights enjoying Iluh's cooking. Putu the manager is a very nice man, available to organise whatever you might want, including massages at the villa by Wayan, who is very good. There’s maybe only one warning: be prepared for every dog in the laneway to come out and bark at you the first time you walk down, then after that most of them can’t be too bothered, though a couple of them always put on a good show! Putu warned us of this and gave us a few tips which we appreciated. Thank you Putu, Iluh, Made and Kadek.. and Lisette...we hope to be back.

Superior villa with all luxury you need!

I stayed at the lovely villa beten Bukit for 10 amazing days. My days started with an early morning swim in the beautiful saltwater pool surrounded by most exotic nature. Even had a private yoga lesson early morning in the garden. Then a delicious breakfast with good baleens coffee prepared by the cook Iluh on the veranda with amazing garden and mountain view. The scenery was so meditative and relaxing. I could have spent my whole day like this. What more can you wish from your holidays? The villa setting is superior having the luxury of a 5 star hotel with your own cook, gardener, driver etc. but on the other hand privacy of an villa with freedom of outdoor life and nature. I loved the fact that the villa is actually middle of the normal Balinese life in a small seaside village with all facilities you need for a relaxing but active holiday. Most days I took the bike to my activities like making a temple tour what at the end was a “bikram cycling” due to the humidity but so much fun. Also had amazing massages to discover some mussels I was not even aware of but now I know! Not to speak about body treatments you can undergo for no price. I discovered a new hobby and that is diving- what an amazing coral ! Even though I was alone I never felt alone due the hospitality and superior service from each of the staff members. Big appreciation! Once you have experienced this paradise you will want to come back! There are no words to describe how much this place has done to me. Marvellous holiday

We spent our vacation this year at villa Betèn Bukit. It’s a wonderful and peaceful place. The hospitality was excellent and the staff made some scrumptious meals for us. Furthermore, the view is breathtaking and the surroundings imposing. We will definitely come back next year!

Best garden ever........

My husband and I spent a week in Pemuteran at this villa. The garden is incredibly beautiful, tended by two gardeners from morning to evening......privacy?????? The house is not as comfortable as we thought on the pictures. It was very windy when we were there, no place to eat indoors for example . The bed was very comfortable, sheets changed everyday which was nice. One of the major disappointment was Internet !! I was told by the owner that it worked, not as well as in Europe, but it did.....we NEVER managed to connect, nor received a phone message. Being a VRBO owner myself it was quite inconvenient. We needed to go to a café in the village to read mails.......quite a way....as well as the beach that is further away than 800meters. We rented a motorbike which turned out to be fun and allowed us to discover Pemuteran . By foot it is impossible and it is hot. Komang, the manager is very nice and helpful, very reactiv. He arranged for very good masseuses to come everyday. All in all we had a nice stay but had to compose a bit ! Also the presence of help all day is extremely uncomfortable as far as I'm concerned.........

Bali is a beautiful island with a great culture. Unique in this culture is that the Balinese people do everuthing to serve and pamper you and make it as comfortable as possible. This can be perceived in a different way by western people who are more looking for privacy. It is no problem to ask the staff to leave after breakfast for example; please discuss this with the manager and he will arrange this. Internet can be a challenge in Bali; we in the western culture are very much used to a fast and steady internet connection and that is not the case in Bali. The signal can be very poor, even more when it is raining or very windy. At certain spots in the villa it is possible to receive your emails or phonecalls.
