Cleanliness lacked - bathrooms had not been cleaned post last visitors - including dirty toilets, sink and shower floor. Floor was very dirty with hairs and when wiped, cloth was black with dirt. Basin and bench top dirty as well - had clearly not been cleaned. I had to clean both bathrooms before we could use them. Also grass was extremely overgrown and you need to park on the grass - so walking from the car to the front door was very wet in the rain. Owner said we could check out at whatever time we wanted then on morning of arrival, said we would have to turn on the hot water which would take an hour to heat up; and turn on the fridge (which would then take a few hours to cool down to a sufficient temperature). When I expressed concern about the fridge and the food I was bringing needing refrigeration and asked if someone can please turn it on that morning, he then said he would get a cleaner to do that but we now had to check out on time so the cleaners could come. It made us feel very uncomfortable how he turned on us like that for a very valid necessity when renting a house (and could have been communicated upon us booking the house four days prior). We said we had made plans to depart at noon so could not now change them to which he obliged.
