This cabin is located in a quiet and remote spot with neighbors in distance which was great! Also checking in was easy and the host was quick to respond. But the freezer needs to be repaired so it can be shut properly. Also the upstairs is infested with bugs, we tried to kill them daily with no success, my daughter and niece decided to sleep downstairs for the stay. The kitchen has rats or mice because the food on the counter were nibbled on bags were chewed through. Stay was good, but the cabin needs some better upkeep for future stays.

We're so glad you enjoyed the quiet, remote setting, and that check-in was easy and our host was quick to respond. We're sorry the bugs and the freezer affected your stay. The cabin sits in the woods, where seasonal bugs and mice try to find their way in each fall, so we keep regular exterminator service and plug-in and perimeter treatments going year-round, and we've already increased trash collection with the garbage service. The freezer has also been serviced twice by an appliance repair technician. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

Nice quiet place in the woods. Plenty of room for 6 people. Long driveway. Kitchen well stocked. Livingroom large and cozy. Beds comfortable. House is on a hill, so the backyard is steep. Near a lake but access is limited. The lake is mostly marsh.

Great stay in cute cabin

We had a great stay at this pond side cabin. The cabin had all we needed for our family. We really enjoyed the deck and yard in front. When it rained there were fun games in the cabin. All worked well in the kitchen , well stocked with necessary items and extras like spices, olive oil etc that are nice to not have to go get. The washer and dryer worked and were nice to have. The beds were comfy and because of nice weather rarely used the ac units but they were there if we needed. Enjoyed the location, away from any other house and at night the stars were magnificent. The fire pit was great as well. Was easy to get to Jacksonville, Wilmington, Hogback mountain overlook and Harriman reservoir. Had a fantastic stay and will recommend to friends and family.

Excellent stay. Beautiful cabin, comfortable space, full kitchen with silverware, flatware, oil, spices. Fantastic view. Very peaceful. Lovely place. Even had a little toy castle that my young daughter loved!

It is a lovely cabin in a quiet, secluded woods by a quiet pond. We felt like the only people in the world. Yet it is not far to stores, parks, etc. Perfect to feel like you are camping in the woods, but have all the comforts of a well stocked home.

Beautiful location and setting, cabin was nice and atmospheric. Facilities worked well, check in and communication with the manager was excellent. Only issue was cleanliness and insects in beds and curtains and on the floor. Stink bugs/cockroaches and the property needs a deep spring clean. Dust in curtains and floor, surfaces etc.

Southern Vermont Gem

We loved this little cabin on Gates Pond! It was just perfect for our family with plenty of space. The setting is so so beautiful and secluded. There were some refrigerator issues that the owner and caretaker did their best to solve as quickly as possible. The house was super clean and comfortable and it had everything we needed for our stay…it felt like a cozy home away from home and we all enjoyed it so much! We definitely hope to stay there again next time we’re in town. Thank you!!!

We enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean. The only thing I would suggest is checking the stairs to the basement.

Cabin in woods

Nice cozy cabin in the woods for our Thanksgiving getaway (Nov 2022). My husband and I enjoyed our stay here looking out over the partially frozen pond, watching the sunsets and sitting by the fire. We even had deer and grouse visit. It was a relaxing way to spend some time away. The cabin is cozy and well equipped.

The cabin itself is nice. We did experience some misses with the cleaners/property management. We arrived to find tasks were incomplete; there was our needed towels in the washer that we had to put into the dryer and turn stick in the bathroom, there was 2 bags of frozen food left out on the counters and there was no laundry soap left to wash our clothes which my traveling friend who came to stay one night was very much counting on having. The dining room light fixture had 3 bulbs burned out, I found some and replaced them.There was also no salt when my husband made us dinner one night, which was a surprise. We did buy both of the needed needed items for our stay. The cabin was cute and our stay was peaceful and the fireplace was a nice touch. I would stay again but thought I would pass along these suggestions that we experienced. Thank you for sharing your home!
