Our family explored the Oregon Coast from north to south, from Astoria to Brookings before falling in love with the Surf Pines Community and its beautiful lakefront setting.

We built our lake house around 2003 and raised our children here during a simpler time, with far fewer amenities than families often expect today. What we had instead was something even more meaningful: time together. Our children grew up making lifelong memories with friends and family playing outdoors, enjoying the lake, gathering for meals, and appreciating the beauty and simplicity of the Oregon Coast.

Around 2010, we decided to share our home so other families could create those same kinds of lasting memories. We hope our lake house offers a place to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy meaningful time with the people you care about.

We chose the Surf Pines Community because it offered the perfect balance of privacy, natural beauty, and easy access to everything the Oregon Coast has to offer. After traveling the coast from Astoria to Brookings, we knew this quiet, gated neighborhood was a special place for our family to slow down, spend time together, and build lasting memories. Our one-acre lakefront property gave our children room to play, explore, and enjoy the outdoors while still being close to great restaurants, beaches, recreation, and family activities.

Whether your family is coming from across Oregon or from another state, our home is an ideal place to plan a memorable family reunion or private gathering. There is something for every age and interest, from relaxing by the lake and enjoying the peaceful setting to exploring the many nearby coastal attractions.

For those who enjoy fishing, Warrenton offers seasonal charter-boat opportunities for deep-sea fishing. One of our favorite memories is sturgeon fishing in Astoria, where my dad and I each caught a sturgeon over five feet long. Golfers will also appreciate having both an 18-hole course and a 9-hole course within a mile of the house.

Just four miles south is Seaside, where families can enjoy miniature golf, bumper cars, carnival rides, beach time, and the outlet malls. Five miles north, Astoria offers its own historic charm, including the famous Astoria Column, where you can climb to the top for incredible views of the Columbia River and surrounding area.

Our lake house is unlike a typical vacation rental and it is a place designed for families and close friends to spend meaningful time together. Many guests have affectionately called it “Disneyland,” while others describe it as “The Ultimate Family Reunion” destination to Relax. Set on a private one-acre lakefront parcel in the gated Surf Pines Community, our home backs directly onto Sunset Lake. The property offers a 30-foot floating dock and a wide selection of water activities, including two 17-foot canoes, a four-person paddle boat, two paddleboards, three kayaks, and a 12-foot aluminum fishing boat with a trolling motor. If you enjoy fishing, you may even catch dinner right in the backyard.

When you are not on the lake, there is plenty for all ages to enjoy, including a Swedish sauna, professional pool table, volleyball court, foosball table, ping-pong table, and game consoles with a variety of games, including PlayStation III, Wii, and Xbox 360. Whether the weather brings sunshine or rain, there is always something to do.

For convenience, Costco, Walmart, Starbucks, Fred Meyer, and Subway are all located about a mile away making it easy to stock up for a family gathering, prepare meals, or pick up anything you may need during your stay.

To protect the peaceful character of our neighborhood and ensure every guest has a wonderful experience, we welcome family get-togethers and child-friendly gatherings. Any other type of gathering or event requires prior written approval before booking.
