There is plenty of space for children to run around outside the Condo. Also there is a front and back verandah, so lots of space for your family and friends to spread out over.

You can do as much, or as little, as you want at Salamander Bay. Just relax and go for walks around the golf course, sit outside and read a book. Play a game of golf, go shopping at the shopping centre that is only 2km up the road. Salamander Bay is a quiet location, not very busy and noisy. So if you are from a busy city, it is nice to just relax and escape your busy life.

There are lots of indoor activities to do in Port Stephens when you have a rainy day e.g. shopping at Salamander Bay, lots of restaurants and cafes, Fighter World, Nelson Bay Cinema, Irukandji Shark & Ray Encounters, art, antiques, Murray's Brewery and Port Stephens Winery, massage and beauty therapy.

The cottage is spacious and comfortable. Beautiful view over Horizon Golf Course. Kangaroos visit at dusk, very special.Accommodation a little tired tiredbut beds comfy..

Pretty great

Fully self-contained condo with views over the golf course: greens, trees and waterways and kangaroos at dusk. Even during Christmas it is peaceful from the hustle and bustle at Nelson Bay at the end of the day. On hot days go to Salamander Bay Shopping Centre with air conditioning: supermarkets, specialty shops, restaurants, cafes and food court.

Fine place to stay

It was a fine place to stay. The benefit of it is location as opposed to the experience of the accommodation. There were doors that don’t close properly, dirty plates in the cupboard, and rubbish left from previous renters. Tv and internet were great with access to lots of entertainment. The golf course is pretty and nice to look at. Not ideal for kids as there is not much onsite for them and they aren’t particularly appreciated by the golfers

Thanks Myles for review of our Aussie Chillout at Condo 105 @ Horizons Golf Resort - Salamander Bay NSW. Since your stay we have had all these repairs and maintenance done. Plus new vinyl slab flooring and freshly painted inside throughout condo. We now have a new cleaner so cleaning is not an issue now. Just hop in the car and go for a drive there is so much for kids to do in the Port Stephens area. They include: surf and bay beaches, local council pool, shark & ray centre, Tomaree Headland Walk, whale & dolphin watching, fishing, boating and sand dune experiences. Rainy days we have Netflix, Stan and YouTube.

Nice place to stay

Pool in complex not suitable for swimming. Pool should be suitable for swimming at this time of year. Also ensure enough toilet paper and tissues in property.

We agree re: the swimming pool. Horizons owns the pool, 3 strata groups and 200+ accommodation owners (complex situation) Small pool should be open mid- December 2019. We supply 2-3 toilet rolls per stay. We don't supply tissues.

Condo 105 is on a golf course, it is nice going for walks in the mornings and evenings. You will see kangaroos within metres of the Condo.

Golf course is picturesque the property is definitely not.

I really wish I had read the reviews of this property before booking. They describe how run down the condo is. I agree with previous reviews that the whole place needs painting and completely updated. Including the furniture and the rusty fittings in the bathroom replaced. The tables are worn and scratched and the windows dirty. The bathroom door sounds even worse than mentioned in May. The board on one side has separated at the bottom. I had been really looking forward to staying there now I wish we could get our money back.

As of December 2019 we have a new cleaning manager. Last week a thorough spring clean was done and this week maintenance issues are being addressed. In 2020 we plan to repaint the condo.

The property is really very spacious. View from the property is ausome. We enjoyed our stay.

We liked the property. It is very spacious and well maintained. All the required things are available and the most important the wifi. In our previous stay there was no facility of wifi which we felt lacking but now it is also fulfilled. We recommend our friends and family to visit their and stay in this property. Only the thing we would like to suggest is the toilet door which makes noise while opening. It is mostly disturbing at night time. Besides that everything is perfect for the one who go to relax and enjoy their holiday in a beautiful environment.

The open plan living area is spacious with lounge room, dining and kitchenette. What makes it spacious is that it sits on a plateau overlooking the golf course. This is very picturesque while having a meal and drink. It is nbn WiFi plus we also have Netflix, Stan, YouTube and FREE to Air APPS. Appreciate feedback on repairs and maintenance issues and we follow up with cleaner and maintenance person.

Location & grounds great, property was not

This property is in a lovely location & the golf grounds are beautiful however property it’s self is very tired and rundown. Everywhere needs a good clean. Soft furnishings need replacing in lounge, along with the very noisy & uncomfortable bunk bed mattresses. The whole property needs painting to refresh the stained walls. Bathroom needs to have all the rusty fittings removed also. Such a shame as I was really looking forward to the visit after seeing it online but instead I was embarrassed that I had taken my family to the property. 2 stars purely for the location & grounds.

Location and views over the golf course causes you to chillout and relax. We select medium mattresses as it is appealing to majority of guests. Lots of these issues have been addressed.

The Condo is a great place to escape from life and to de-stress. Life gets very busy, and depending where you live, like in a busy place like Sydney. You get to the Condo and you can just relax, read a book, or sit outside and watch the kangaroos in the mornings and evenings.

Great little place

We liked staying here, the kids had fun in the pool and we enjoyed a game of golf. It was nice and close to the shops and beaches. Only complaint is it wasn't as clean as I would have liked and some things needed updating, like the electric kettle and coffee table. Overall it was fine though.

Fantastic stay

Our stay at Condo105 was fantastic! The surrounding scenery was stunning and the facilities offered were great! The parking lot had great view of the night sky- which was an added bonus of our stay! Condo105 was really convenient- very close to the main attractions of Port Stephens. The hosts were also very understanding and patient to all our questions and inquiries.

When city folk come to the country areas they are amazed at the night sky. City lights make it impossible to appreciate the stars and night sky. Personally I would rather go down on the golf course than the parking lot to appreciate the universe. lol. 10-15 minute drive maximum to all attractions in Port Stephens.

Even though it is a resort. The layout makes it peaceful and tranquil. We updated the lounges and dining table and chairs. Before summer we plan on updating the outdoor lounges and entertainment table and chairs. In the kitchenette we have a key for the tennis courts, the pool is within 50 metre walk.

Great for family and group of friends. View is on plateau overlooking the golf course, water ways and bunkers. Very picturesque and relaxing. Wild kangaroos populate the golf course at the start and end of the day. If you take a walk on concrete path around the golf course at the end of the day, you can get quote close if you walk slowly and make no sudden noises. Remember they are wild so you can't pat them. When not sleeping or busy I try to respond within 5 minutes.

Location, location, location

This was a fantastic place to stay - 50 metres from the 1st tee at Horizons - the perfect place for the 4 golfers who stayed there and the envy of many others in our travelling party. The house was clean and well equipped and made for a comfortable nights sleep after enjoying golf courses and other attractions in the Pt Stephens area. It was also close to shopping areas and we found a number of places to eat in the Salamander Bay and Nelson Bay areas. Communication was top notch with the host getting back to us quickly to confirm the booking and organise linen. This accommodation was the icing on the cake for a week spent in the Port Stephens area. It is well worth staying at Condo 105

Golfer's paradise - play and stay. Enjoy the challenge of an eighteen (18) hole immaculate golf course. Then at the end of the day a BBQ or meal and drink overlooking the golf course with a view and sunset. Close drive to everything else in Port Stephens. Communications are all answered quickly and proficiently.

Nice & relaxing accomodation

The condo was comfortable and clean. The outlook over the golf course is really lovely and relaxing. The BBQ (at the condo) was a little dirty and not well maintained. The pools are also in need of a bit of TLC and some shade would be great (It was a really hot day when we stayed). Overall the condo was great but some TLC needed for the pool and BBQ area (near the pool).

The outlook over the golf course was the reason we bought the condo as you relax for your holiday as soon as you walk in door. We informed cleaner about the BBQ and to take more care with cleaning. Horizons Golf Resort owns the swimming pools x2 and BBQ area (near the pool) so that is out of my control. New management took control in the last year and things are improving bit by bit. They have done a magnificent job with golf course.

Outstanding property

We (all six of us) stayed at Condo 105 for 7 nights over the new year period. The property was very clean, comfortable and perfect for a relaxing holiday. The kids enjoyed playing card games, watching dvd's, listening to music, playing golf, playing tennis and swimming which was all provided at the condo/resort. Moreover the beaches and toboggan park were only approximately 5-10 minutes away. The serenity of the surrounding environment was great, enjoying an outdoor cuppa with the local kangaroos.

When we were looking to purchase a holiday unit, when we sat on the lounge and overlooked the golf course we were immediately relaxed in the peaceful environment thus we purchased. Only 10 minutes from all the tourist stuff and at end of day chill at the condo. Plans for 2017 is Wifi, Netflix and Stan. Upgrade outdoor furniture for entertainment and lounges.

Awesome property!

We stayed here for 2 nights, last minute booking and immediately received contact from the owner. We organised linen & he even offered a later check out. Got to the condo & were pleasantly surprised how clean and equipped it was. It does state BYO linen, towels, dishwashing liquid, DVD's etc. We took towels for the shower, but not the pool, don't forget those! I am unsure if it always has so many amenities but it has 2 fridges, heaps of cutlery, the are DVD's, CD's, books, UNO, an extension cord, extra batteries & light bulbs etc. They have thought of everything! The only downsides for us were that as it is on a Golf resort we expected nicer dining, instead it is more just a bar full of Golfers (obviously), I understand this can't really reflect on the Condo, and we were checking out at 11AM and at 11:01AM as we were literally on our feet to leave someone unlocked the door and came in from the linen hire place. I'm not angry about this at all, and he was very apologetic. Possibly some extra communication with third parties would save the embarrassment. My only tips to the owners - Buy some new cutting knives & fix the light over the bathroom sink (It's kinda dark in there!). Will definitely be back.

Thanks Darcy for Guest Review. Apologise for not communicating with linen hire service. That is our fault. Taken note of things required and to be fixed. Salamander Bay and Nelson Bay are only a 5-10 minute drive for fine dining, restaurants, cafes and bars.

Excellent property

Wow, from the time we walked in the door we knew this was a top notch place to stay. The accomodation was very clean and the beds very comfortable. The views of the golf course were stunning and we enjoyed walks around it and the kangaroos in the afternoon. The furnishings were all clean, modern and comfortable. The owners were very helpful, friendly and accomodating. The accomodation is very close to Nelson bay where we enjoyed a whale watching cruise and delightful walkers along the water. This is certainly a place I would recommend and would definitely stay again. Thank you David and Hilary for making our stay a pleasant one.

Glad you enjoyed Virginia. When we walked in to inspect we sat down on lounge looking out across the golf course and was totally relaxed from the get go. Thus we purchased. Other great walks include Tomaree and noted that your boys had great time at Shark and Ray Centre. Whale watching is great at this time of year.
