Our family enjoyed our week at Villa Nordica. The home was large enough to accommodate our family and we especially liked being able to gather everyone at one table for meals both inside and outside on the deck. Being right on the lake was wonderful, although the home does not come with any "toys" for the lake other than the water trampoline. Other positives: parking for five cars, bathrooms were clean and updated, plenty of room for food storage with two refrigerators and a large food pantry, owner permitted us to bring our dog. On the flip side, we felt the cost was steep for the condition of the property. Although the bathrooms were updated, the deck itself, tables, cushion boxes, one rug, and couches need to be updated and/or cleaned. The kitchen drawers and cabinets also need a deep clean. We also had issues with the grill, toilet, ice maker, and cleanliness of the linens. The linens were changed the morning after contacting the owner. The other items were brought up after checking out as we didn't feel our vacation should have been spent contacting the host continually about all of the things that should have been checked prior to our arrival. The host's reply was a list of how this is a private home, not a hotel. Comments made by the host both during our stay and after check out felt like blame on us rather than gratitude for calling attention to things that would make the property more comfortable. Overall, it was a nice place, but more was expected for the price.
