A Wonderful Stay in the Cove

This place checks all the boxes! The kitchen is fully stocked, the appliances are new and fully functional, the house itself is very comfortable. We were very satisfied with the quality of our stay. It's within a 15 minute walk to Old Town. This place is a gem.

Little slice of paradise!

What a find! I live in Los Angeles and was looking for a little getaway for the weekend to soak up some rays and escape the marine layer. La Casa Pintada was exactly what I was looking for. Super charming colorful home, with impeccable gardens and fantastic swimming pool and just a stones through away from the Old Town, tucked away at the foothills of the mountains. They had everything, sharp knives (a must!) great cooking utensils, an incredible pool, brand new appliances, bedding and towels, oh and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. They really thought of every little detail here, the pool accessories came in handy for a game of pool tennis, or just as we floated around and enjoyed the La Quinta sun. The cruiser- bikes were so great, it's literally was a 5 minute (leisurely) bike ride to Old Town Coffee Co and the charming village atmosphere (they even have a coconut- coffee cup holder attached on the bikes which came in handy as we cruised around). There is also a great bike path near the house that we took advantage of as well. My favorite part was eating every meal outside, watching the mountains change color at sunset - with a nice cold beverage in hand! The place was spotless and in a perfect location that was really easy to find. This is the best little getaway from Los Angeles I could imagine - will definitely return! Thank you!

Relaxing

Very clean and very comfy mattresses! Very nice neighborhood and good restaurants. Sue will respond very quickly with any questions you may have. Had a really nice time and would love to stay again. It’s only time would allow. Thank you Sue!

Loved this stay! Highly recommend for a long weekend getaway!

This place is the perfect getaway desert home. The pictures don’t do it justice! It’s roomy and beautiful and clean, and has all of the amenities we needed. Plus, a fire pit which was so lovely to have at night, which we didn’t see In the pics so that was a lovely surprise! Sue was so communicative and made the check in and out process so smooth! Would definitely stay here again :)

5 Day Desert Escape

This property was in a perfect location. Near to Old Town La Quinta and golf. Very peaceful and relaxing with attractive décor. The pool and hot tub were wonderful amenities. We will return.

Mother Daughter Weekend

The outside of the property was everything I expected. It was disappointing that there was not a coffee table in the living area as we brought games to play and had to sit around the kitchen table. I was also surprised that the house did not come equipped with basic toiletries, such as bar soap, in the bathrooms. The location was about a 45 minute drive to Palm Desert.

Little Oasis

We loved our stay! We had our 10 month old with us and he enjoyed the pool so much! The house was very clean and so cute with the flowers and the colors. The host Sue was very friendly and great at communicating with us. Also it’s a great location for biking or walking because there is a trail! We would love to stay again next year 😁

Fantastic spot

We loved our stay at the casa pintada. The property was immaculate and Sue was an excellent communicator. The pool and spa heated up extremely quickly and were exactly what we needed for our weekend retreat. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful vacation spot that is still within walking distance to restaurants and hikes.

A peaceful retreat in the desert

We had a wonderful stay at La Casa Pintada. This beautiful home is equipped with everything you need for a get away. It is walking distance to the Old Town area with restaurants and shops. La Quinta is nicely located for easy access to Joshua Tree, the Salton Sea and other local area destinations. Highly recommended!

Perfect Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Sue was great and the property provides ready access to all the outdoor activities La Quinta has to offer. Hiking, biking, golf, tennis and Old Town are all a short walk, ride or drive. The property is well equipped, artfully decorated and feels welcoming and comfortable. Thanks Sue!

Slice of Heaven

This was a perfect home to truly get away! The property is MORE beautiful than the pictures! We spent our days reading in the pool, and relaxing by the fire table for morning coffee and evening cocktails. There is a third private room that was a perfect office to get some work done. The bedrooms were spacious, and the kitchen perfectly equipped. The location could not have been better. The cute town of La Quinta had amazing restaurants, and anything you could need was within a 10 minute drive! I would definitely be back to this property!

Great house, Great location, Great getaway

The property is just as described, so no surprises here. Simply read the other reviews. What should be noted is how close this property is to numerous hiking trails. Also, the house comes with four beach cruisers, which are SO awesome to bike around La Quinta and the neighboring communities. We were desperately looking for an escape from COVID, and this was exactly what the doctor ordered. We would definitely stay at this property again. Thanks Sue for making my birthday and our anniversary memorable and amazing even during a pandemic! :)

Perfect Honeymoon

We spent our little honeymoon getaway at the La Casa Pintada. The house was everything we needed. The outside pool area was absolutely beautiful, which is where we spent most of our time with most days in 120°!!! We loved the cruisers that we rode everyday and we even took our shot at an early morning of tennis. Sue was an outstanding host and checked in with us and was always available to answer our questions. Thank you for a great stay for our first trip to the La Quinta/ Palm springs area.

It was meant to be! After many bike rides on Avenida Montezuma along Bear Creek Trail and taking photo's of this amazing painted house over a five year period, we kept saying to ourselves that if the Painted House comes up for sale, we are buying it. Well, it did and needless to say it only took us minutes to make that decision. We love this house as it has a fabulous open floor plan that sneaks its way out to the patio and pool with south west views of the Santa Rosa mountains. And all within walking distance to Old Town and the La Quinta Resort & Spa where hanging out grows on you.
