Our family couldn’t have loved The Roost more! It was utterly charming and the location was dreamy. From the moment you open the gate, you can feel yourself relax. Our family had never been to Silverwood, and didn’t want a long drive to the park. 15 minutes and we were there. Silverwood was great, but my favorite day by far was the day we spent hanging out on the dock at the lake. The kids swam all day ans we roasted S’mores around the fire pit at night. Coffee on the deck each morning was heavenly. If you want polished and modern, look elsewhere. If you want rustic character, like your grandparents could have owned an idyllic lakeside cabin, look no further. We did not stay long enough (sadly) to have need for a washer and dryer. We were not inconvenienced by the lack of dishwasher. One thing to note- the bunk room is accessible by external lock and key. However it does not lock from the inside (at least we couldn’t get it to). While we felt plenty safe, with the public boat launch being next door, our kids opted to sleep on the main floor. They LOVED the bunk room for hanging out in during the day. If we return to Idaho in the future, we will be returning to The Roost. Wonderful owners to work with, friendliest neighbors (and dogs), sweetest cabin, great seating everywhere, and perfect views.
