Great location, character filled cottage, wonderful outdoor entertaining area with good fencing for the dog. Excellent. Loved my stay and would like to come again.

Fantastic little cottage in a very handy location, within a short walk of almost everything you need - the Sackville St and Bank St shops are less than 5 mins away. Very comfortable beds, more than ample crockery, glasses, cutlery, pots & pans, t-towels and towels. The house was very clean and comfortable. I imagine in the warmer months you would spread you time between the outdoor undercover area and the inside living area. But in the colder months, the front living room, where you would want to spend your evenings, was quite tiny - a little cramped even for three of us - and unfortunately the combo of split system and panel heater still didn’t manage to keep us comfortably warm without blankets. But all in all, we loved our stay and feel very spoiled for the experience.

Enjoyed our stay at Muttonbird Cottage, so close to everything that is Port Fairy. We will look forward to returning again.

Great family property

A wonderful place for families. Nice backyard for a pet and a great outdoor undercover entertainment area. A fantas oven and very comfortable beds. Highly reccommendend.

Relaxing stay

Property is as described. Comfortable beds. Good outdoor area. Cooking equipment. Great location in the township for walking, dining, coffee, retail and of course ice cream across the road. Variety of beaches only minutes drive.

Get away

Quaint cute historic cottage, with a lovely open fireplace in the outdoor area, which was lovely for Christmas. The gardens were lovely too.Unfortunately the spa didn't work at all, and the main bathroom had drainage issues backing up. Also the tap water from kitchen sink had an unusual taste, so take all own drinking water for stay. Outdoor chairs were mouldy, so we had to vacuum and clean them up prior to use. Otherwise a lovely stay.

Brilliant cottage getaway

Such a cute cottage that is bigger than expected! Perfect walking location to the main shops, and very close to the marina and so many beach options. It had everything we needed and very comfortable.

Great location close to shops and cafes.

We took our two border collies with us. We all enjoyed the cottage with a secure yard. Absolutely loved the back indoor/outdoor area. We spent a wonderfully lazy long weekend. Taking the dogs for walks to the beach, along the wharf and for coffee. Cottage is very comfortable, but note there is no WIFI, which suited us fine as we wanted a break from work.

Beautiful cottage

My husband and I, and our little old dog, enjoyed five blissful days at this lovely home that contained everything we needed. A short walk from the main street and in close proximity to so many beautiful places. Highly, higlhy recommended.

Port Fairy Sojourn

A great property walking distance to the centre of town. Very comfortable with large indoor/outdoor area which we spent time in relaxing, eating, throwing a ball for the dog. The town was lovely and has a very nice craft shop and many eateries. The beaches are great.Very relaxing.

Mutton Bird Cottage

Mutton Bird Cottage provided the perfect base for my partner and I and a friend while we participated in the 2024 Port Fairy Jazz Festival. The house itself was well appointed, clean and friendly. It was perfectly located, only one block away from the main street and all of the music venues, yet it was far enough to be peaceful and perfectly quiet at night. It was also within easy walking distance of the wharf and the island, where one evening we stayed to watch the mutton birds return for the night. We would be happy to recommend Mutton Bird Cottage and to stay there ourselves when we visit for Festivals in the future.

Dudley's Barneses first trip to Port Fairy

We have been visiting Port Fairy over the summer holidays for around 25 years. During that time we have both camped and stayed in holiday houses. Mutton Bird Cottage definitely ticked all our boxes with this stay.Our Labrador, Dudley loved his stay as much as we did.Especialy the terracotta pot, and sprinkler on the hot days! The house was absolutely spotless, but furnished in a way that we also felt at ease having our large puppy with us. The position of the property was really close to shops and easy access to both East and then South Beach.Our daughter enjoyed also having a queensize bed, the rainwater shower and the spa bath. My husband and I loved the huge outdoor living space and well appointed kitchen. Truely can't fault this property and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a really comfortable stay in Port Fairy during all seasons. Many many thanks to our host Jenny Macgilvray for an exceptional stay!

Lovely

The location is wonderfull right around the corner are the shops and restaurants! And we enjoyed Griffith’s Island very much: we saw the Mutton birds at dusk and there were hundreds! And we were the only ones on the island that evening! It is a spectacular place and view!

Comfortable cottage with everything you need , just like a home away from home with a fantastic outside area with open fire. Great back yard for our two frenchies who had a wonderful stay !
