An absolute little slice of heaven — we genuinely didn’t want to leave. From the moment we arrived at Miner’s Cottage, we fell in love with the place. It’s one of the cosiest, most charming cottages we’ve ever stayed in and exactly what we needed to escape the craziness of everyday life.Surrounded by beautiful old gums and Australian bushland, the setting is incredibly peaceful. We spent hours outside with a glass of wine, enjoying the serenity and watching the wildlife wander past. By the end of our stay, we were basically on first-name terms with the locals — unfortunately, most had feathers or fur. The cottage itself has so much warmth and character. It feels authentic, cosy and completely unique, rather than just another accommodation stay. The location is perfect for exploring the Barossa’s wineries, towns and restaurants, yet when you return, it feels like you’ve escaped back into your own private little world. We came for a belated birthday getaway and some much-needed time together, and left relaxed, recharged and genuinely sad to leave. If you’re looking for character, privacy, romance, serenity and that wonderful “where the hell has the rest of the world gone?” feeling, this is it.Five stars doesn’t quite seem enough. We’d come back in a heartbeat.
