Great place. Very new. Nice kitchen. LOVELY fireplace. Super nice owners. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because there are a few things I think could be better (based on other VRBO and HomeAway rentals I've stayed in):
1. The kitchen is mismatched. That's fine! But having just one wine glass when you advertise that a place sleeps 5 is not. I expect there to be enough of the basics (plates, silverware, glasses, etc) to accommodate all potential guests. There's a note that you can ask for extra linens if you need them, but, if 5 were staying (as we originally thought we'd be there with friends), I would expect a minimum of maybe 8 towels, not 4.
2. The master bed is a double and makes a lot of noise! My husband has LITERALLY slept through tornado warnings & even he commented on the amount of noise the bed makes. (We switched to the second bedroom, which has a queen, our 2nd night.)
2a. I found it odd that the bigger bed wasn't in the master suite, especially since the room could accommodate a king, but that's not a problem, just a surprise.
3. There were more than a few things that needed fixing. As in the shower door handle fell off & dishwasher didn't work. I get that it's winter and probably not prime time for renters in Wisconsin! (And the notes around the house about how things worked made total sense to me.) And, for two people that's not a problem, but, if we were 5, especially since it seems otherwise fairly new, stuff like that would have been a problem.
These problems seem easily fixed (by a run to Target or Lowe's and some wood glue) and, if they were, I would totally give the place 5 stars!
