This property is a fantastic location on Bonaire with the dive shop next door. Dock access of the Bari Reef is great. An abundance of waterfront to view and swim. We enjoyed the studio apartment. Supplies for coffee, cooking were great as we prefer to eat in after diving all day.

Steps to swim and snorkeling. Very nice new kitchen with ice maker, nice appliances. Comfy queen bed. Nice TV, spacious bathroom/shower. Nice patio with clothesline, comfy furniture. Plenty of electricity outlets.

This unit was perfect for my husband and I. Exactly as described, clean and modern.We appreciated the well stocked kitchen, and the bed was very comfortable! Sand Dollar itself is in a great location; close to town, yet far enough away to be quite and peacful. The owner Mitzi responds quickly to inquiries. Having the dive shop and private dock is the icing on the cake!

Studio by the Sea

I stayed in this very studio several years ago and enjoyed it then. The owner has made several improvements to the unit and it is very comfortable and efficient. Love that its less than 100 steps to the ocean and in a very central part of the island so everything is a short walk or drive away. The other tenants or owners who are here are very nice and they attract a good rental base, but divers are some of the best people in the world! Nice place, thanks Mitzi!

Great location!

F9 was so clean and comfortable. The Sand Dollar staff is always ready to help make our stay just right. Having Eddys restaurant and Dive Friends scuba rental next door makes this rental so convenient.

wonderful place to stay

We loved staying here. The view to the water is great and the palm trees and gardens are lovely. We enjoyed the palm tree theme and the place had everything you could need in the kitchen, even filtered water from the fridge There was plenty of closet space for clothes and the AC worked well.

This unit was very nice and like shown. The kitchen is wonderful. For a studio, it is roomy and comfortable. View of ocean from patio and a couple hundred feet then down some stairs and you’re with the fishes 😎

This studio apartment was conveniently located to town and dive locations and was private. While a tad outdated with appliances and features, it was cozy and we enjoyed staying there. We would definitely stay here again!

Relaxing location, sunsets, snorkeling off the peir

This condo offered the perfect home base for a week of island exploration. The space was more than adequate for my husband and I. The owner was responsive to any questions and the staff are friendly, helpful and willing to help in any way. It is centrally located to many dive shops, and the bustling downtown is just minutes away. The bed was very comfy and wonderful to settle into after a busy day of exploring either on land or sea. Thanks Mitzi -hope to return someday soon!

Love the Sand Dollar!!

We stayed in an efficiency. Very nice full kitchen, beautiful bathroom, comfy bed, great TV. Patio was perfect for morning coffee with a view. Water, SCUBA diving just steps away. Twice weekly clean towels a good schedule. The Bonaire blue whiptail lizards were fun to watch.

Cozy, Comfortable With Relaxing View

Making our 17th trip to Bonaire, our “go to” place to stay is always Sand Dollar. Studio F9 was perfect for just the two of us. And it had everything we needed to enjoy our much needed vacation. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need if preparing meals on those occasions when you just want to eat in. Learning how the stove worked was kind of an adventure, but we had excellent directions. Very quiet with a view that will calm your soul! Thank you Mitzi!

Wish We Could Have Stayed Longer

We really enjoyed our time on Bonaire and at Sand Dollar. The condo complex is very peaceful, beautiful views, amazing sunsets and stargazing, friendly neighbors, and convenient dives with Dive Friends nextdoor. The house reef - Bari- is great for diving and snorkeling. I recommend F-9. It had everything we needed for an enjoyable, memorable vacation. Thanks Mitzi. We will be back.

A wonderful place on Bonaire

We have stayed at the Sand Dollar before and it is a great place. This studio is fully equipped with everything we needed. It has nice cookware and a comfortable bed and pillows. The new kitchen is very nice. Being on the ground floor makes it easy to get to the ocean. The host was so thoughtful. It was our honeymoon and she had the apartment decorated for us with a beautiful fresh flower arrangement and petals on the bed :-). We felt very welcome. I would highly recommend this studio for 2 people.

Perfect vacation rental for two!

My husband and I loved our stay with you. The apartment had plenty of room for the two of us and is well laid out with plenty of closet space, drawers, in addition to space to hang our wet diving gear on the outside patio. Parking was convenient right in front of the unit. The Sand Dollar office was very helpful and Dive Friends is our favorite dive company located on site with tank pickups all over the island. Miss it already!

We so enjoyed our stay on Bonaire. We visited 17 snorkel sites and loved them all. Mitzis’ unit was perfect—roomy, very clean, a great shower, comfy bed, well-equipped kitchen, private patio with a view, a large closet (lots of hangers) and a big dresser for our two-week stay. Convenient to town, but far from the sight and sound of cruise ship activity. Appreciated the maid service, easy parking, A/C, ceiling fans and the wall safe. Sand Dollar is a quiet complex with friendly folks to chat with while sipping wine and watching the sunset on the waterfront terrace. Would most definitely stay here again. Thank you for a taste of paradise!

Fabulous stay in Mitzis condo

We had a fabulous stay in F9. Mitzi was in constant communication with us, and answered all our concerns before traveling and during. She gave us lots of great advice. The condo was absolutely perfect!!! Very comfy bed, with lots of pillows and a maid service. Kitchen was greatly equipped and we loved the ice makers😊. Mitzis condo had the best ocean view, also we only had to walk out the front patio door, and jump in the water for a beautiful ocean oasis on Reef Bari. We picked up groceries at Vandertweels, or the market down the road, both only minutes away), and prepared our meals in the condo. F9 at Sand Dollar was central to everything. The best part was the relaxed area, and all the wonderfully friendly neighbours. Bonaire was certainly our favourite Caribbean island. We packed a lunch each day, and hoped into our truck to explore new snorkel sites. We particularly Enjoyed swimming with all the turtles at the Salt Pier. We ended each day with an island sunset drive, to visit all the donkeys and Flamingos ❤️😊❤️! Thank you so much Mitzi, we can’t wait to return again. Kindly, Cynthia and Bobby

Updates needed

The Good: Mitzi is very responsive and informative on procedures. The Bad: The pictures of the pool are very deceptive. The pool stayed an uninviting shade of green and reeked of chlorine the whole time (10 days) we were there. You could not ever see the bottom of the pool. The condo itself is in need of attention. There is an issue with the plumbing and the shower does not drain well. I was told at checkout that they will be digging up the entire sewage and plumbing system for the unit. It definitely smelled bad. The picture of the bed makes it look larger than it actually is. It is a double with an old mattress and a piece of foam padding on top of the old mattress. I slept on the couch, which was more comfortable than the bed. That was not something anyone should have to do on vacation with their spouse. The oven is a pain to use and I wondered if the sagging cabinet above the sink might give way and collapse. The faucet in the kitchen is not in proper working order.

Wonderful piece of paradise

We had the pleasure of staying at Mitzi’s studio condo at the Sand Dollar Resort in Bonaire for two weeks in February 2019. Mitzi’s condo is updated and superbly appointed, with everything that a holiday traveller would require. The condo is beautifully decorated in a palm tree theme and has a completely equipped kitchen, including a stove with oven which is very difficult to find in most Caribbean accommodations and which enables one to be able to make any type of meal they desire. The condo is immaculately clean, and maid service includes sweeping and washing floors, cleaning the bathroom, refreshing towels and bed sheets several times a week. There is a clothesline on the front sitting area for hanging your wet clothes. There is also parking directly in back of the condo. The resort is a short 5 minute drive to the heart of Kralendijk and 10 minutes from the airport. The outdoor sitting area directly faces the Caribbean Sea, not 75 feet in front, with a view of the beautiful Caribbean, flowing bushes, trees, palm trees and cacti. It is only a very short couple of minutes stroll to the sand beach whereby you can step right into the water to swim, snorkel or go diving. To the immediate right of the beach is a wonderful small reef teeming with schools of small fish, angelfish, trumpet fish, various corals, and other colourful aquatic life. We were so thrilled to be able to snorkel anytime we wanted throughout the day from the shore without having to spend money on a boat to take us out when we wanted to snorkel. There are plenty of diverse and reasonably priced restaurants within walking distance of the main Sand Dollar entrance, including a fabulous bakery/sandwich/dessert/coffee place called In Between 2 Buns within a 2 minute walk, and the Doner Station, a wonderful Middle East food eatery just across the street from the bakery. Mitzi is certainly a super host, always responding to any queries that we may have had within minutes of receiving them, and was extremely friendly, accommodating and gracious to us. It was a real pleasure dealing with her. As well, the staff that work at the Sand Dollar Resort were extremely helpful, courteous and friendly in any interactions that we had with them. The Sand Dollar Condo Resort is a very safe, quiet and relaxing environment which enabled us to have a wonderfully stress-free vacation in the sun, and we would have no hesitation in returning to Mitzi’s little piece of paradise in Bonaire again.

Oceanfront location is amazing!

Husband and I stayed for two weeks in November 2018. We thoroughly enjoyed the unit. Furnishings are lovely, it's well equipped with everything you need, dishwasher is a nice touch, A/C worked very well, layout is very functional, staff are wonderful, the outdoor patio area is awesome. We enjoyed watching many sunsets from the unit! Parking is right in front and the ground floor location is perfect. It is in the building furthest from the office and the sandy beach area - this didn't bother us but it's something to note. The whole place was extremely quiet - I think November is low season so that might have been part of it, but if you are looking for a place where you will mix and mingle with people then SandDollar might not be the place for you. If you enjoy the solitude of not having to share space with others then you will love it. Bed is comfortable but if I'm being picky, the pillows aren't great. There are only three (four would be better as my husband grumbled that he only got one! LOL) and the two main pillows were quite hard. We felt very secure - left the safe open one day with no issues. It's good to note that if you leave the unit from the patio door and head to the ocean front then you won't have an option to lock the unit. We left it unlocked and had no issues, but if you need to keep it locked then you will have to use the front door and walk around. Again, not a problem for us but everyone has different security thresholds. Our one and only disappointment was the pool - or lack thereof for all intents and purposes. Yes, you have use of a pool (the one pictured) but it is part of Eddy's Restaurant so that means you can't consume your own food or alcohol and it has no charm - it's literally in back of the restaurant at the back of the complex. SandDollar is set up with four large 'courtyards' facing the ocean (where all the patios look onto) and any of these would be a perfect location for a pool. This is truly what the complex is missing and is the sole reason we wouldn't choose this location on a future trip. Having said that, if a pool isn't a major attraction for you then you will be very happy with this unit and I think it is truly one of the nicest in the complex.

Great Diving location, private and relaxing

We can’t wait to return! Our first time at Sand Dollar and it exceeded our expectations. Convenient location, clean, comfortable apartment with everything you need. If you want an affordable place right on the ocean, this is the place for you. My husband and I enjoyed sitting by or walking along the sea wall. The steps right into the water are convenient and the private pier is great! Dive Friends has a location right next to the pier.

Great studio, great diving!

This studio was great and very convenient. The view was fantastic. I would not hesitate to recommend it. We spent three wonderful weeks of scuba diving and the dive site right in front of Sand Dollar is beautiful.
