This cabin in the woods was the perfect getaway and exactly what I needed! Our family likes visiting Helen, GA and usually stay in a local hotel. This time we opted for a cabin. Less than 15 minutes drive from Helen, this cabin is located in Sautee Nacoochee community just off Hwy 356. It is just a one-lane path that looks like a private driveway. Along the path, there are other cabins and homes, each just as secluded as this cabin. Deer Hollow cabin is at the end of one of the paths. Parking is limited so don't come with your toy hauler in tow. Room for only one vehicle to park. Not much yard, but we didn't have a need for a yard. The cabin was spotlessly clean! From the small front porch with a sweet bistro table and chairs, the front door opens to an open floor plan kitchen/dining area with the living area further into the cabin. Between the kitchen and living room is the dining table and an air hockey table. The living room has a very comfy sofa and loveseat along with end tables and a TV. There is a gas fireplace but since we were there in July, we didn't use this feature. The first bedroom has a queen bed and an ensuite bathroom with a shower/tub combo. The second bedroom has a king bed and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The screened-in back porch has a few seating options, a gas grill, and a hot tub. The hot tub was very lovely to experience after a full day of walking around Helen or hiking nearby trails. Just outside the back porch is a fire pit surrounded by chairs. The view from every window and porch is simply "the woods". Nothing but nature surrounds you. There are no visible neighbors, roads, or highways. Drinking my morning coffee while sitting on the backporch listening to the birds - perfect!! I'm already planning my next trip to this cabin!
