My husband and I stayed here for two nights to explore the Great Ocean Road. It was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast, because we usually like our own private self contained place.
Jodie, wow. Jodie is awesome. Upon meeting us, she made us feel so welcome. She immediately took us to the room, which she preheated, it was getting rather chilly outside. The room was comfy, large TV, a nice little corner table to eat and do whatever we needed to do on it, bathroom was amazing - especially the rainfall (?) waterfall(?) showerhead.
I read in previous reviews to make sure I get dinner at least once during my stay. No regrets, I'll die happy. Our food arrived exactly at 7pm as requested, husband enjoyed the beef and I the fish. OMG OMG OMG - DO NOT SKIMP OUT ON DINNER - IF SHE ASKS IF YOU WOULD LIKE DINNER, YOU SAY YES. We wolfed down the food like two starving kids, it was SO DELICIOUS! I wanted seconds, and immediately looked forward to our breakfast.
There is a great selection of movies saved onto foxtel, so don't worry, you are well entertained. We also took a walk to see their chickens and got to meet their sweet puppy. There are local kookaburras flying about, and at night we heard a koala grunting away. The bed was extremely comfortable. Let me say, Jodie's loveliness, her delicious home cooked meal, the shower, and the bed, sent me into dreamy dreamy land... I had the hardest time getting up in the morning, but knowing breakfast was arriving soon motivated me out of bed, and yes... breakfast was divine.
We met Shane on our last day, as he was away. JUST AS LOVELY AS JODIE!!!! We ended up being behind our travel schedule because we just kept chatting! Seriously, I will be back, and I am recommending this place to everyone I know. The location is quiet and peaceful, and within an easy driving distance to Cape Otway Lighthouse, a few place for easy bushwalks, the 12 Apostles and the other cool coastal look out places. Thank you Jodie and Shane!!!
