Very clean. Communication was wonderful. We were contacted several times during our two week stay, even after a heavy rain to make sure we were okay. Beautiful location. Fun to walk in the vineyards in the morning and evening. Small peaceful town with about ten houses and two wine producers.

A Great Return Stay at Fontbonne

We had stayed at this location last September and enjoyed it so much that we returned this year for a longer stay of 16 days. Communication with the owner and her agent was easy and fast. We love the privacy and great views of the vineyards from the elevated location of the house. We watched the "vendage" (picking of the grapes), from the porch while enjoying an outdoor lunch. The house is well equipped with all the appliances and basic supplies provided. While it is a bit of a walk to the small town of Vacqueyras, it is an easy drive to supermarkets, restaurants, and neighbouring towns. There are great walks through the vineyards in the area.

Hideaway amongst Les Cigales

This is a lovely little second floor gîte. Only two rooms plus a bathroom and balcony but everything you will need including a red squirrel, a view of the vines and air conditioning. It is comfortable, well equipped and tastefully decorated.The owners make this clear in their description but it wouldn’t suit people with limited mobility or small children. The tiny hamlet is close to a number of famous wine villages with restaurants ranging from the hearty to the refined. There is much to see within striking distance, the top of Mont Ventoux or the Pope’s Palace at Avignon, for example. The place was spotless and the manager solicitous from the start. She texted to warn us, for example, that the water was off due to an accident and offered to bring us bottles. We were fine as we were wandering around a street market in Orange and it was fixed by the time we got back. One minor plea, can you add an oyster knife please to the well equipped kitchen? I managed with a waiter’s friend but it wasn’t easy. As I hope is evident, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend staying here.

Picturesque

As stated before in the reviews the view from this apartment is really stunning. The balcony is a perfect place to eat or just sit, overlooking the vineyards.The garden is beautiful and relaxing. A nightingale was singing in the tree before the house during our entire stay and squirls came to visit everyday. You can also hear the sound of the tractors in the vineyard, but we considered that part of the Vacqueyras experience. We did not meet the owner, but the communication through WhatsApp with her caretaker Ben was very considerate. As the owner was not at home, we had the entire garden at our disposal. We were glad about that, because it was not mentioned in the description that the apartment is situated in the owner's garden. Since no one mentioned it in the reviews, it might not be a problem, but we like our privacy. The bedroom is very beautiful and spacious, the kitchen/living area might be a little bit crampy if you have to stay inside (as happened to us one evening, because of wind and rain). But I don't expect that to happen very often in the Provence.

Ein schöner freier Blick in die Landschaft

Wir haben die Tage Ende März/ Anfang April in dem gut ausgestatteten Haus sehr genossen. Es ist ideal für ein Paar. Für mehr Personen würden wir es nicht empfehlen. Auch unser Hund hat sich in dem kleinen Garten und bei den Spaziergängen an den nahe gelegenen Fluss wohl gefühlt. Wir empfehlen das Haus auf jeden Fall weiter!

Wunderschönes Haus

Das Haus ist wunderschön und sehr stilvoll eingerichtet. Die Besitzerin hat es mit eigenen, wunderschönen Bildern ausgestattet. Die Küche ist gut ausgerüstet, alles ist vorhanden um feine Rezepte aus der Provence zu kochen. Durch die zentrale Lage konnten wir sehr viele Ausflüge machen. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich. Der Hund hat den eingezäunten Garten geliebt.

At Home in the Vineyards

We are a couple who spent 2 wonderful weeks in early September relaxing at this comfortable apartment in Fontbonne. While we have vacationed in this area previously, this was our first time staying in this apartment and we were very impressed. Our hostess, Katia, welcomed us as we drove in and introduced the apartment details to us. She is friendly and helpful while not intruding on your privacy. Her own house is located next door to the independent apartment building and we had exclusive use of the fenced yard with a ground level patio and an upstairs balcony. The apartment is located on the first floor and the ground floor is unoccupied. The kitchen is well supplied with appliances, dishes, and utensils and is perfect for preparing your own meals. We usually ate on the balcony which has a great view overlooking the vineyards below. The bathroom and closet are off the kitchen and the large bedroom with its comfortable bed is 3 steps down from the kitchen level. Be aware that the apartment is located on the first floor and is accessed by outside stairs. Fontbonne is a small hamlet in the middle of the vineyards outside of Vacqueyras and offers the opportunity for hikes along the small roads and hills in the area as well as visits to historic sites and wineries. Excellent restaurants are found in Beaumes de Venise, and supermarkets are in Sarrians, about a 15 minute drive. This apartment is a great base from which to explore this region of Provence.

We had an excellent stay. The property was perfect with everything you could possibly need. The views from the terrace were absolutely stunning across the vineyards to the river. We spent every breakfast and dinner on the terrace thinking of how lucky we were to enjoy that vista. It was perfect for our dog who was secure in the garden and loved the walks through the vast expanse of the surrounding vineyards. Katia was nothing short of amazing. She is one of the friendliest, smiling and positive people we have met. She knows a lot! We absolutely enjoyed those chats over a glass of wine. I would love to return and we are telling everyone what a wonderful, quiet location it is.

Traumschöner Urlaub

Von Anfang bis Ende ein wunderbarer Urlaub. Trotz intensivster Sonne, konnte das Steinhaus relativ kühl gehalten werden. Ausstattung war umfangreich und uns hat nichts gefehlt. Katia hat uns mit Obst, Konfitüre und Wein empfangen und alles wunderbar erklärt. Ausflüge mit dem Auto im 80 km Radius haben uns an tolle Orte gebracht. Vom Mont Ventoux über Avignon, bis Arles und Kloster Senanque.... Einkaufen war gut in Sarrians möglich und morgens Baguette mit dem Fahrrad im 3 km entfernten Vacqueras. Überhaupt Fahrradfahren geht prima dort vor Ort. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen für Menschen die absolute Ruhe und Individualität suchen. Herzlichen Dank an Katia und Ben für die gute Betreuung und den abendlichen Sonnenuntergang in den Weinfeldern von der Terasse aus zu sehen.

Wunderschöne Ferienwohnung zwischen Weinfeldern

Wir haben unseren Urlaub in der liebevoll eingerichteten und sehr gut ausgestatteten Ferienwohnung sehr genossen. Uns fehlte es an nichts. Die Wohnung ist sehr ruhig gelegen und der Sonnenuntergang jeden Abend wieder ein Genuss. Wir hatten mit Katia und Ben jederzeit eine Ansprechpartnerin und waren sehr angetan von ihrer offenen und herzlichen Art. Wir haben viele gute Tipps für Unternehmungen und Restaurants bekommen. Wir können diese Unterkunft nur empfehlen.

Eine alleinige abgelegene Wohnung im oberen Stockwerk ( man sollte noch Treppen gut steigen können) mit herrlichem Blick über die Landschaft! Für uns ging ein Traum in Erfüllung! Sehr gute Lage, um die Gegend in Tagestouren zu erkunden. Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Nachbarn!

Ein erholsamer und rundum angenehmer Aufenthalt

Haus und Garten bieten Atmosphäre der Provence vom Feinsten. Ruhe, Licht, Sonne, Schatten - alles sehr angenehm. Einrichtung und Ausstattung des Hauses sind bequem und zweckmäßig. Die Sauberkeit des Hauses trägt zum Wohlfühlen bei. Für Abwechslung gibt es viele Ausflugsziele, auch dank der Hinweise der Gastgeberin. Aber am schönsten ist es auf der Terrasse des Hauses. Hunde können auf vielen Wegen laufen und schnüffeln. Für die wunderbare Zeit ein herzliches Dankeschön an die jederzeit erreichbaren, freundlichen und sehr aufmerksamen Gastgeberinnen.

Wunderschönes Ferienhaus mitten in den Weinfeldern.

Das Ferienhaus ist sehr komfortabel eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Die Kontaktperson vor Ort war jederzeit erreichbar und sehr hilfsbereit. Ausflüge in die nähere Umgebung (z.B. les Dentelles de Montmirail und Bergdörfer) sind ein Muss. Es gibt sehr viele Wanderwege, Wochenmärkte und Weingüter mit Weinverkostung. Wir haben unsere Zeit sehr genossen.
