A bit far from Cradle Mountain, but it has plenty of space for a 4-people family. A big bath is really good for people who trekked a lot to recover. A fire place is also nice to warm in the cold night.

Big cabin, very clean - loved it

We loved our stay here. The cabin is big with really comfortable beds. Is about 25-30mins from Cradle Mountain but there is not a lot of options around. Quite a nice setting too

Mountain comfort

Very comfortable and added bonus of a wood fire for the cold nights. Lovely place to stay near Cradle mountain. Would recommend it. Thankyou Shepherd and Donna.

A great way to rest and reset from everyday hustle

As the property is located within the mountains there is very little to no phone reception or internet. It is a great way to step away from the phones and back into nature to rest and reset from everyday hustle. The property was very clean, very well maintained and very homely. All amenities were provided just like a hotel would. It is a fair drive to get to resturants and cafes so i would suggest stocking up on food at the grocery store before arrving at the property. The property owener did mention this prior to us arriving that day. Overall it was a beautiful place to stay

Gateway to Cradle Mountain

This cabin was a great base for our family to explore Cradle Mountain and it had everything we needed. The fire made the main room very cosy (although it didn’t really heat the rest of the cabin, but in April it wasn’t really a problem). The bathroom seemed fairly new but it wasn’t particularly well designed and didn’t have very good ventilation. The shower took ages to get to the right temp and water sprayed all over the bathroom. But these were minor things and generally we were happy with it.

Nice cottage but….

The cottage is very pleasant and comfortable but lacks the final touches that make for a great stay. Knives were blunt, outside furniture poor, no seive just the little things that can irritate

Excellent Cabins

Very comfortable cabins 30 min drive from Cradle Mountain. Beds were comfy and the cabin was warm with a/c and a fireplace. Host responsive to queries.

clean and functional, a good distance from Cradle Mountain

This stand alone home had everything we needed for a one night stay 20 minutes drive from Cradle Mountain. Enjoyed the cooking up the breakfast provided and had a comfortable nights sleep.

Great accomodation

Excellent cabin very large and fantastic wood heater. Everything we needed was provided including alots of little extras to make us comfortable. Highly recommended.

There are four spacious self-contained cottages. All Cradle Alpine Retreat cottages have a well equipped kitchen, electric blankets, 1 cottage with log fire and 3 cottages with private spa bathrooms, as well as the beautiful views of Mount Roland

National Parks & Attractions
The property offers easy access to the best of the Cradle Mountain area, activities and attractions. Among many others below are some of the best places worth visiting;

Roland Mountain The summit affords one of the most spectacular views in Tasmania. It is approximately 5 minute drive from the property

Leven Canyon - A dramatic canyon with a river twisting and roaring 275 metres below. Its only a 40 minute drive the property

Mole Creek and King Solomon Caves - approx 30 mins from the property

Anvers Chocolates is approx 45 mins from the property

Tasmazia a colourful miniature village within a complex of mazes - 15 minutes from Cradle Alpine Retreat

Lake Barrington -20k long and features an international rowing, skiing and canoeing competitions. Its approx 20 mins from Cradle Alpine Retreat.
