We’re Andrew and Alyse, husband and wife duo, professionals, small business owners, parents to two energetic little boys, and your hosts (if you’ll have us 😉).

We’ve always dreamed of owning a small slice of Byron Bay, but like many young families, the only way we could make that dream a reality was by purchasing our little cottage and opening it up to guests. It hasn’t been an easy road by any means, it’s truly a labour of love, but it's something that feels aligned for us and something we're so very passionate about.

We love hosting because it gives us the chance to create the kind of stays we always appreciated as travellers: comfortable, thoughtful, and easy. We’ve designed the home as a true home away from home, and we enjoy sharing curated foodie guides and local tips so you can experience the best of Byron Bay like a local, not a tourist.

Over the past 9 years and 400+ stays, we’ve been fortunate to host many wonderful guests, and we’re genuinely grateful for the ongoing support and positive feedback that has allowed us to continue sharing our space with travellers from near and far.

Why Byron Bay? Byron Bay is a place that invites you to slow down and fully immerse yourself in its natural beauty. Picture pristine beaches, long coastal walks, and sunsets that seem to pause time itself. Just beyond the shoreline, the hinterland unfolds into rolling green hills and quiet country charm, offering a gentler rhythm just moments from the coast.

What we love most is the effortless shift between the two. One moment you are surrounded by ocean energy and salt air, the next you are winding through peaceful countryside. It is all held within a relaxed coastal town that has quietly become one of the country’s most exciting food destinations.

As avid food lovers, we are continually inspired by the region’s exceptional local produce and the calibre of chefs who call it home. From intimate cafés to celebrated restaurants and vibrant markets, there is always something new and memorable to discover.

But why did we choose our place? It's a story of the stars aligning, with a little grit and determination thrown in. When we were searching for a home in Byron, the market was incredibly tight and we were desperate to find a place that felt right. One day, Andrew decided to drive down to Byron and start door knocking around town. He visited many houses that day and was met with a lot of rejection, but this one was different. He knew it as soon as he walked in. It felt special. The owner shared that they wanted the house to go to someone who would keep it as a home, not tear it down for redevelopment. We negotiated a deal from there, and that is how our journey with Inala House began.

There is just something about this house - a feeling you cannot quite describe until you are here. It truly feels like peace, calm, and relaxation, and we hope you feel it too. If you do, we’ve done our job right.

What makes our property truly stand out is the rare combination of space, comfort, and location. Positioned in one of Byron Bay’s most sought-after pockets, we are just moments from town, beaches, and local cafés, yet the setting remains private and relaxed.

Homes that comfortably accommodate up to eight guests this close to the heart of Byron are incredibly rare, making it an ideal space for families or groups who want to stay together without compromising on location or ease.

The home is designed for both comfort and connection, featuring a fully equipped chef’s kitchen that makes entertaining and shared meals effortless. Flowing from the indoors, the outdoor entertaining area provides a relaxed space to gather, unwind, and enjoy Byron’s easy coastal lifestyle.

Adding to its uniqueness is the fireplace, a particularly special feature in this region. It creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for cooler evenings and relaxed nights in after a day exploring everything Byron has to offer.
