Things that I liked about this listing:The private entranceThe ease of getting into the propertyThe bathroom with the shower was lovelyThings that I didn't particularly enjoy about this listing:The only place to park was on the curb off the streetThe furniture in the photos is not the same furniture in the listingThe listing said that the kitchen was fully equipped for cooking meals and while it had plates, bowls, and cutlery (the table was beautifully set) it only came with one pot, one pan, and a kettle. There wasn't like a casserole dish or a sheetpan and when I inquired if there was a sheetpan somewhere that I wasn't looking I was told that a sheetpan wasn't included and that apparently was the end of that. The fridge has a water/ice option in the door however it wasn't working and when I inquired about that I was told that it was broken and that they called the repairman and that was apparently the end of that as well, it would have been nice to know BEFORE I booked this listing that things were broken. After 10pm my teenager and I were just talking and the owners messaged us saying they could hear us and couldn't sleep which is fine, we can turn it down, however early in the morning and all day is the thump of feet running, walking, and jumping very loudly from the upstairs.The tv remote doesn't really work, we couldn't sign in to any of our appsThe owners are very nice but for the price I expected things to work and it to be stocked as listed.

I booked this property for a week but left after one night due to visible mold and water damage that caused throat irritation and eye swelling. I later found a prior review mentioning mold, so the host was aware of the issue. When I reported my concerns and requested a refund, the host became defensive and even accused me of making loud noises and breaking something while I was asleep. Future guests should carefully inspect the unit and read recent reviews before booking.
Mold ongoing water damage at the base of the shower.
The shower insert has a crack on the opposite wall of the shower head.
Multiple outlets did not have covers - concerning for small children who may stay there.
Another outlet without a cover plate.

This apartment has an excellent location in an excellent neighborhood. Clean, safe and with all the amenities. I will book again if Im visiting the area.

We had a nice stay and really appreciated how smooth the check-in and check-out process was. Communication with the hosts was quick and helpful, and the space was very clean and welcoming. A few small things would have made the experience even better: having more cookware available (there was only one small pan), a functional TV with streaming options (the current one had a glitchy screen), and less noise from upstairs, which was noticeable at times. Overall, thank you for hosting us and making the process easy and comfortable.

Beautiful home and neighborhood. Upstairs family were nowhere near as loud as the negative comments on this app made it sound like. My family greatly appreciated being able to stay.

Basement stay for short stays

The location is decent and the overall setup is nice. It has the basic amenities with a full kitchen setup and living room area. There were a few items to note. I had to contact the host on the day of arrival to get the check-in info. You can hear the young kids screaming and running around upstairs in the mornings. One of the rooms had a spider issue. The bathroom with the shower had a slight mold problem. The laminate wwood dloors needed the wax cleaned off

The property was in nice neighborhood but the noise was absolutely awful. They had kids running for hours and when I said something about the noise the owner said they were entertaining guest, I had driven over 18 hours and wanted to rest and couldn’t because of the noise and it wasn’t just one day it was everyday and night. Lots of spiders and it smelled old and closed in and the sheets had not been washed.

A nice, clean unit with some deficiencies

A clean, nice basement apartment in host’s home located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Did not get check in information ahead of time nor were there rules of the unit or checkout information. Not a quiet retreat, could hear a lot of walking, running, thumping noises from upstairs. Not horrible but annoying. Cannot control temperature in the unit so at mercy of host’s controls. Eight steps with no railing to get down to unit. Could be challenging for someone with mobility issues.

January 2023 Review

The place was perfect for two co-workers with individual rooms at opposite ends for privacy, 1.5 baths was a real perk as well. The kitchen was well equipped and the place was clean and comfortable. Only suggestion would be to have a throw blanket or two to curl up with and maybe a large pot to handle pasta. Other than that the place was perfect for my needs.

It is a nice place but....

I informed the owner that I would need to change my reservations and leave a day early several weeks a head of time but they haven't credited back by extra day paid for. I will take care of that but I am just sharing. It is a very nice place, in a very quite and nice neighborhood. Everything was as advertised. My main issue was there was a child running around and screaming upstairs in the morning. I don't know if the upstairs was being rented as well or if those are the owner of the property. This made sleeping in impossible. Be careful on the steps coming down to the entry, they are slanted downward and could cause a problem on a late drunken night. Also I drove by the house several times at night because there wasn't enough lighting to see the street number. It is in one of those neighborhoods where the house look the same (especially in the dark). The walk way next to the house to get to the entrance is pretty dark at night as well. Oh yes lastly, the bed is by the window and the heating vent is on the other side of the room. I got cold at night with the thin comforter and no thermostat controls in the rental space.

Nice location. felt safe. family upstairs were very quiet. Outside steps are required for apartment access and there is NO railing. This was not in property description. Concrete steps were poured on an angle (not flat), making them dangerous. My husband has had two hip replacements and we almost asked for a refund after his first attempt down and up again the next morning. I cannot imagine what these would be like if there were inclement weather conditions. The apartment has no temperature (thermostat) control, so whatever it is upstairs, you must live with downstairs. The apartment was clean on the surfaces and main areas. Along the baseboards, in the corners, and behind doors, there was a lot of dust/hair. This suggest that there are missed opportunities when it comes to cleaning. I try to never leave bad comments because my opinion may not be yours, but these are just a few things that I feel are worth mentioning.

We had no issues with renting. The location was perfect for us. Can easily sleep 4. Ideal for traveling couples. The bedrooms are at separate ends as are the bathrooms. Had a full size kitchen. Even though the owners were upstairs, we rarely heard them. Would recommend for your stay in Aurora.

The heat was controlled by the owner. You could hear the kids upstairs at night.

The owners had complete control over ac/heat in our vrbo, you could hear them upstairs all night, very nice people but we were there for my sons heart surgery so it was hard to sleep.

Adorable and spacious!

This was a great vrbo experience! It is exactly as pictured but actually bigger than the photos show. We traveled with 3 but it could comfortably sleep 5 with one (child) on the couch. The full-size washer and dryer was a great bonus…we used it everyday since we were visiting for a soccer tournament. They have it supplied with dishes, cups, mugs, silverware, some pots/pans, cutting boards, coffee pot and coffee, George Foreman grill, toaster, waffle maker, full size fridge and dishwasher. They provide towels, hand soap, lotion, toilet paper and paper towels. They have a smart tv with a DVD player and an easy to use remote. There are (steepish) nice new concrete stairs going around back so fyi it is not wheelchair accessible. Each bedroom had a lock on the door from the inside. I was told the owners had multiple locks on their side but I would suggest the owners put a lock on the renters side going from the house down to the basement to make the renters feel more in control of their security. Thank you for an excellent stay!

Wonderful accommodation!

Loved staying here! So roomy and comfortable! There are outside stairs to reach the suite. Nicely decorated. Full kitchen. Hosts were very friendly and communicative. Will definitely stay here again!
