The apartment is located opposite the Notre Dame University entrance on Mouat Street, in close walking distance to just about everywhere in Fremantle. The High Street galleries, Cappuccino strip and Bather’s beach are in the immediate vicinity and there is no real need for a car when you stay at the Architect’s Warehouse on Mouat.
Built into the imposing façade of the Strelitz buildings, the apartment retains some endearing features of this historic building. Look up in the entry to see a magnificent wooden beam and pulley used in times past to transport goods between the levels.
The Strelitz Buildings, located at 30 Mouat Street, Fremantle, were built in 1897 for Paul and Richard Strelitz. In October 1994, the buildings were permanently listed on the Western Australian State Heritage Register.
A notable tenant, between 1904 and 1906 was Herbert Hoover, then a mining engineer for Berwick Moreing & Co that had an office in the building. Hoover later became the 31st President of the United States.
Enjoy a unique experience when you stay at the Architect’s Warehouse Apartment on Mouat Fremantle!
