We have just returned to snow and cold after a week in the paradise of Taj Majahual and the Costa Maya.
We decided to pull out all the stops for our 50th wedding anniversary and took our children and grandchildren on the trip of a lifetime. Gabe’s Taj Majahual was the perfect spot! We had plenty of room for all three families—and in luxury accommodations.
The beach, the silken sand, the deliciously warm water, and the sunrises! What more could one dream of? Well, to top it off, the most beautiful setting. The house, with its gorgeous tiles and mosaics, is breathtaking. With porches all around, we had delightful breezes to cool us. The grandchildren frolicked on the Caribbean shore and in the sea—and so did we all (for me, it was the first time I’d set foot in the sea for over 50 years!), and afterwards, they swam in the darling 13’ wide plunge pool, which was just large enough for the three of them. In fact, the two smallest ones gained enough confidence there to stick their heads into the water and start swimming instead of dog-paddling. They delighted in resting in the hammocks provided. The kitchen is very well-equipped (and very prettily done, again in talavera tiles), and we fixed all but one of our meals there. It was fun buying our food from the “grocery truck” that comes on Thursday and Sunday (the kids were about to run screaming from the kitchen when they found that our 2 half-chickens came with heads and feet!—good learning experience). We were very sad to leave.
Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful home, Gabe and Cindy.
