Our stay at Killington, Vermont was just okay. I wish we had been informed upfront that the property uses well water; this was only mentioned after we made the purchase. The well water was very harsh, and it stained the utensils. Because of this, we had to buy jugs of water for everyday use.Additionally, the master bedroom shower had very low water pressure and wasn’t working properly, so my husband and I had to share the hall bathroom with the kids, which felt unfair. We tried contacting customer service via phone and email but never received a response. The pull-out couch mattress pad was dirty, and we found hair left in both showers. The living room couch also seemed outdated. We suspect there might have been dust mites or bed bugs, as we experienced itching and bites during our stay. While the decorations were beautiful, the property clearly needs some updates. Lastly, the washing machine had a strong mildew smell and stains, forcing us to run it multiple times with bleach before washing our clothes—yet our clothes still smelled like the machine afterward.Overall, for the 1,000 we paid, we don’t feel the stay was worth it.
