✓ White shoji paper doors separate the tatami from the long "engawa" sunroom. "Yuki-mi shoji" style meaning the bottom half can be lifted to reveal glass windows. Traditionally, in upper-class homes these "snow viewing" doors were in place so people could sit at the warm, low tables in the tatami room and watch it snow.
