This beachside shack is located in a picturesque quiet cul-de-sac of Port Sorell. Only five minutes walk to Freers Beach. The home offers all the modern conveniences that you'd expect. There's plenty of room for eight people to comfortably stay. The shack has two bathrooms & laundry facilities.The outdoor bbq area is the perfect spot to sit & unwind at the end of the day.

Please note, that there is no wifi at the property.

And to also add to the appeal of the home, it's pet friendly! The home is fully fenced & secure for your dog to run around. There's no need to holiday without your beloved pooch, as they're fully catered for to also have a lovely beachside getaway.

All facilities are right on your door step. With an IGA Supermarket, located in the Shearwater precinct, which incorporates a newsagency and the Fireside Wine Bar. Woolworths Supermarket is a 5 minute drive away. There are two golf courses within 8 minutes drive away, being Thirlstane Golf Club and Port Sorell Golf Club. And there's Shearwater Resort only a 10 minute walk & the Port Sorell Surf Club being a 15 minute walk along a new beach walkway.

Then there's Ghost Rock Vineyard, which is only a 10 minute drive away - what better way to spend an afternoon of tasting Tasmanian cool climate wines.

Ample off street parking for two vehicles.

And the fenced back yard ensures that your furry family member can't wander off on their own explorations!

Excellent location and very cool house.

Amazing location, great house. We needed to do some serious cleaning due to dust, pet fur, and sticky cutlery. Overall though we loved it, and the property is amazing for a family with young kids. Walking distance to playground and beach. We would love to stay there again. Thank you Donna.

Getaway , was a lovely comfortable place to stay and close to everything.

We had family at the camping ground and it was lovely to be so close for grandchildren and made their little visits wonderful. I loved it and will definitely go again .

Great getaway with the family

Our family had a great few nights away at The Pet Friendly Port Sorell shack. Outdoor area was very secure, allowing us to bring our dog with us. Great location. Thanks for allowing us to stay, we will be back!

Good family beach holiday home

Lovely, spacious accommodation. The children loved staying here so close to the beach. On the whole, we were provided with enough of everything (utensils etc), though I was a little surprised we were left with only 3 dishwashing tablets (so we bought some more and left a few for the next guests). Also, one of the bedroom doors tended to lock itself when closed & no one in the room, was difficult to unlock from the outside. We struggled to get clothes for 7 people dry, with no dryer in the place and so used the air-conditioning more than we would have liked, but being winter, there was not much other options! Overall, though, we really enjoyed the place and would stay here again 😃 dryer

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Was aclean and inviting house. Well presented and very clean. One thing that was disappointing was that on the Sunday night at around 8:00pm we had a knock on the front door from the neighbour. They asked if they could take the bi s out for us which ment they had to walk around the back. It would seem that this was done so that they could put there own rubbish in the bin. We were aware that the bin needed to go out as others in the street had been put out. The bin did only consist of a handful of cans. The interpretation was not warranted. Apart from this the shack was great and we would not hesitate to stay again in the future.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent stay at your Airbnb property, while there were some positive aspects, I regret to inform you that the overall experience did not meet our expectations, particularly given the substantial cost associated with the booking.To begin with, the absence of basic amenities was quite inconvenient. We were surprised to find no dishwasher tablets, no tissues, and no bins in the bathroom. The lack of these essentials made our stay less comfortable and presented challenges, especially with a 10-month-old baby who nearly placed a 5-cent coin, discovered behind one of the beds, into their mouth.The cleanliness of the accommodation was also a significant concern. Dusty surfaces, unclean floors (likely exacerbated by the absence of a mop-pad), and a mess of tissues, lolly wrappers, and loose change behind and under the beds reflected a lack of attention to detail in the cleaning process. Additionally, cobwebs were visible next to the bedside tables, contributing to an overall sense of neglect.Further compounding our dissatisfaction were the inadequate provisions in the bathrooms. With only one spare toilet roll per bathroom and no complimentary milk on arrival, our basic needs were not met. The provision of only one towel per person, along with the absence of fresh/new complimentary shampoo, conditioner, or body wash, added to our disappointment.The state of the dishes was equally disappointing, as cups and cutlery were found to be unclean. The absence of a mop pad made it impossible to address this issue effectively. While the property's proximity to the beach and the presence of a large deck were positive aspects, they were overshadowed by the numerous issues mentioned above. Considering the substantial cost

Excellent Getaway Property where pets are welcome

My husband and I along with our two dogs stayed for 3 nights. The. property is as described, was very welcoming and comfy, excellent location. We loved it. The property was secure ensuring no opportunity for the dogs to escape. Would definitely recommend to others

Spacious, quiet, very well located and has a secure well fenced backyard and decking area for pets. The north facing windows would be particularly lovely in winter. I stayed for 5 nights in October 2023 at a very significant cost per night (which cannot be disclosed on reviews). It was my fault in not seeing the small print saying that there’s no wifi. (Considering the importance of internet connection these days, this should be more clearly stated on the Stayz description in larger type, like the 2 bathrooms. It was easy to miss.) A shame because there’s a large ‘smart’ tv - with zero Internet connection to Netflix, Iview etc. In addition, on the morning of my arrival, I also got a text message to say that the accommodation can have poor (free to air) tv coverage, which I found to be the case on several stations. (I once had this problem at home and got an antenna man in and feel the owners of this accommodation should do the same.) Nice white linen and fairly clean overall, although the large drawer with cutlery and kitchen implements could definitely do with a good clean, as could the windows. Overall, considering the price, I was disappointed and wish I’d holidayed somewhere else which had good internet/wifi and tv connection.

Pet Friendly Port Sorell

Three adults and three dogs fitted into this Port Sorell property beautifully. The accommodation for the people was spacious and comfortable. A large enclosed decked area made managing the dogs easy and kept mess to a minimum. The beds were very comfortable with lovely linen. The shack was cosy and warm, even though it was VERY cold outside. The peaceful neighbourhood and close proximity to the beach (for dog walks) made the Shack a perfect place for us and our pooches.

Dog friendly shack

One of the best places we've stayed at with our dogs. We felt at home as soon as we walked in. Hope to return when the weather is warmer so that we can make more use of the lovely courtyard.

Four day stay

We enjoyed our visit to “The Shack” at Port Sorell” and our dog just loved it too. The open living space was very roomy with good comfortable seating and even though weather was cold the air conditioner heated the area nicely. Comfortable bedding. Good kitchen and cooking facilities, had everything we needed for our stay. Location was excellent few minutes drive to shops, less than 5 min walk to a lovely beach. Contact with Donna was excellent and check in info was easy to follow. Thank you Donna, hope we can return again in the future.
