Welcome to Harbor country, home to the magnificent Lake Michigan coastal towns, fantastic restaurants, national parks, breweries and wineries.
This sprawling soon to be 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 2 family room ranch is the perfect place for you and your family.

First floor:
-King bedroom with tv, walk in closet, and master bath
-Two queen bedrooms and a full bathroom
-Spacious dining room with seating for 8
-Large gourmet kitchen with island and additional seating for 4 and plenty of counter space.
-Large family room with fireplace and a flat-screened smart TV

Basement:
-Large bedroom with two full size beds and double closets. -Additional queen bedroom.
-Another large family room with flat screened smart tv and sectional.
-Brand new bar with seating for 6 and smart tv -Full bathroom with tiled shower

-This location is ideal in so many ways- we are just a short walk to Hummingbird lounge, Brewster's Italian, or waterside fine dining at Bentwood Tavern or The Terrace Room. From our home you'll enjoy the short walk to downtown New Buffalo and the beach.

Also we are just an hour away from Chicago by car or Amtrak, you'll soon be steps away to all the conveniences of Harbor Country. Hop on a shuttle to Four Winds Casino, or a short drive to Blue Chip Casino and the Outlet Mall. A great place to take walks to town or the beach as well as bike riding. Tour the wineries and micro-breweries and so much more.

For your information the local ordinance has quiet hours at 11pm and we ask that our guests respect that as we live on a quiet residential block. Strictly enforced. For that reason we do not allow bachelor or bachelorette parties. NO candles or open flames allowed on property - inside or outside. Also we have added an exterior camera to monitor the exterior of our home for liability reasons for our insurance. It is located at the side of driveway. There are absolutely no cameras located inside the house or facing the pool.
Pool will be closed October 18- May 10th.


There is a house guide in a binder at the property with all the information you will need.


Also, City of New Buffalo passed an ordinance, effective 6/14/21, that limits parking to 4 cars maximum, limits number of guests to 14, enforces the noise ordinance and requires a Reservation Summary. That form requests the full name and date of birth for the main contact, full name and age of each guest, and make, model and license plate number (including State) for each car that will be on the property. That form needs to be in the city’s hand no less than 24 hours before reservation. That form will be sent to you in a fillable format but if you would rather send me the information, I can fill it out for you. Thank you for your cooperation.

It was all we had expected and more. Five friends having a getaway; and it was wonderful. The amenities were all over and above in every way. Space, comfort, amenities and location were all top notch. Definitely recommend and if we are ever in area again; will certainly stay there.

This house is wonderful. It’s comfortable, modern and clean! Pool water was nice and warm and cover was easy to operate. We had 4 children under 3 with us and walked to town and the beach. We loved it!

Our family enjoyed this beautiful home so much! The space was perfect for our group of 3 families of 6 adults and 3 kids. The kitchen was well appointed with amazing upgraded appliances. The beds were super comfy. The heated floors in 2 of 3 bathrooms were an unexpected treat! The home was VERY clean and exactly as described. The pool and backyard was so enjoyable. The pool gets sun for part of the day and shade for part of the day. It was especially nice to have the heated pool in addition to the cool waters of nearby Lake Michigan. The fire pit was a wonderful way to end the day. The trip to the beach is super easy and the pool toys, beach equipment and towels made it very easy! The home is designed so well with plenty of space to gather and plenty of space for private relaxation. Someone enjoyed the front porch swing every day! The rooms are all generally larger than the photos make them appear. The lighted shuffle board in the basement is FUN! The hosts were very responsive and easy to work with throughout the booking process and our stay. If we are in the area again, we will absolutely stay in this beautiful home again!

Excellence!

This is our second time staying at the Red Oak. The house is very clean and well stocked throughout. The location is excellent and having the pool is such an added bonus. Mary is easy to communicate with and helps to make sure the stay is 10/10. I highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to New Buffalo. We will be back!

We loved our stay at Red Oak. My family was visiting from Ireland, and this was the perfect place for us to stay together where all the kids could enjoy ample pool time. The home was spotless and well-appointed, and much larger than it looks in photos. The neighborhood is peaceful and very conveniently located. I think a regular trip to Red Oak will become a family tradition for us!

Annual multi-generation family vacation!What a gem! This home worked great for our family of 8 adults and 4 kids (age 2-5). We had plenty of room to spread out. The back pool area and deck were the highlight of our stay, but we also enjoyed the front porch & swing! We had everything we needed to go to the beach and to hang out at home. The location was nice, a bit away from town but not too far! We also rented the golf cart which worked great for quick trips to Oink’s for ice cream, grocery runs to Barney’s and trips to the beach to watch the beautiful sunsets! Would definitely come back to this home again if we were going to be in the area. Mary & Tom were great and quickly responded to any questions.

A perfect getaway

This was a beautiful property in a lovely residential area close enough to downtown for a nice walk. My grandchildren were delighted with the pool (as were the adults who were happy that it was heated). The home is beautifully decorated and so comfortable and outfitted with top of the line appliances. The hosts are also very friendly and generous and seek to make your stay a real pleasure. Would absolutely stay again when we would want more than 2 bedrooms (the house has 5 spacious ones).

Amazing Experience

Charming home in a great location! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The home was so welcoming and well appointed. It was beautiful, clean and had everything we could want. We travelled with 3 small children. It was very child friendly. the pool was definitely a highlight. The location made it easy to walk to town and get anything we wanted. We're hoping to make our visit a new annual tradition.

Amazing - Highly Recommended!

I booked this for a surprise birthday party for my Wife and her Family and couldn't be happier with the result. This house is bigger than it appears in the pictures. There is plenty of space for 10+ people to sleep. High-end finishes, VERY clean, and outstanding location. That being said, the true star is the back patio, pool, and proximity to the beach. We would return to this house in a heartbeat! Thank you for such a great stay!

Exceptional!

Our group of 7 girlfriends have been renting properties for our annual retreats for a decade, and we all agreed this was the nicest house we've stayed in. It was so spacious, beautiful, well appointed, and well stocked. There was so much attention to detail. It's especially great for larger groups who want ample, comfortable seating. We also really appreciated all the large, comfy beds; we're past the age of wanting to rent a house with rooms full of bunk beds. The only negative was some repetitive noise from (I assume) the sump pump was disruptive for those sleeping in the basement. We would absolutely stay here again.

Our stay at Red Oak was wonderful. There was space for everyone. We loved the pouch on sunny mornings/afternoons, loved the proximity to town and all the ways the house was comfortable. It fit our needs for a weekend trip perfectly.

Fantastic House

This is the second house of Mary's that we've stayed at, and they were both great. We had a wonderful time playing ping pong and just watching tv downstairs on the nice big couch. There was plenty of room for the 7 of us and the beds were so comfortable. Mary is also very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. We can't wait to come back in the summer!

Pottery Barn Retreat

Never have we had a VRBO property as tastefully decorated or as clean as Red Oak. The owner left no stone unturned when it came to guest comfort. Tasteful and comfortable, with every need anticipated. Thank you so much for a memorable weekend. As we age these short friend retreats become more important each time. Hopefully we will be able to return to this New Buffalo gem this spring.

Wonderful

This house was perfect for my family to come stay at for the weekend. We were all in town from out of state for my sister's wedding and this house fit us all perfectly! My only complaint is that we just didn't get to stay long enough!! Mary was great with communication and we had an issue with a beeping smoke alarm that they came right over and fixed. We will most certainly be back!!

Plenty of space and little extras!

This house was perfect for our group! It has a big open floor plan, which is great for socializing. The pool was amazing, and the cover was very easy to use. Each towels, sunscreen, and bug spray were provided. The basement space is huge! We had two small children under 3 years old, and it was great to put them to bed downstairs and still hang out upstairs without them waking up. All bedrooms have plenty of space and the house is well equipped with towels, shampoo and soap, and plenty of little extras. We were very pleased with our stay and would definitely stay here again!

My husband, Tom and I, purchased this property on our block last year and took our time and built what we feel is a dream house to share with others. We are originally from Chicago and spent 20 years raising our three daughters in Chelsea, MI before moving here to New Buffalo in 2014. We absolutely love this area and are excited to be able to provide a home to others to make great memories in the beautiful City of New Buffalo. Since we live across the street we are available if you have any questions or need anything.

While this property is on a quiet street, you are only blocks away from great restaurants, bars and a 10-15 minute walk to the majestic New Buffalo Beach. If you choose not to go to the beach, there is a beautiful in-ground pool awaiting you. The house has every amenity you can imagine as I have spent many trips away at VRBO properties and took lots of notes to make sure my guests have the best experience.

There are so many benefits to staying at our home. The one that stands out is our in ground heated pool with courtyard. That is a hit for all of our guests that can enjoy that.
We have 3 bedrooms on the first floor for those that cannot climb stairs. We have 3 bathrooms as we have discovered through traveling with our family that extra bathrooms are a plus. The fact that we have two family rooms would be ideal for couples traveling with children. The backyard is ideal for lawn games, a nice cozy fire at our fire pit. We know you will enjoy spending time out in the yard. The location is one of the high points for sure as you can walk to everything that New Buffalo offers and a short drive to all that Harbor Country offers. For those that love Casinos there are two casinos within 15 minutes.
