The hosts were amazing through the whole process. Even sent a message night before check out about a winter weather advisory. The house was beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice. Everything was clean and felt so inviting. We plan on visiting again.

We have used VRBO many times but this place is above beautiful. You didn’t want for anything. They went above and beyond. My family thinks I am too picky sometimes but this was amazing place. Host was wonderful. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer host. Very efficient. If you want a relaxing vacation this would be it.

We had a wonderful experience. The house was well stocked with everything we needed and more. There was even a note telling us where to find anything else we may need or want. Our host went above and beyond, sharing local events and things to do. They made you feel like you were friends of theirs who they wanted to ensure had a great time. The short trail down the road was perfect for us. Our kids loved going to the creeks while waiting for meals to be cooked or as an after-dinner activity. One thing that is sometimes tough with a larger group is finding a home with enough actual beds in bedrooms rather than pull out couches, but this home had plenty of beds for everyone. Would highly recommend this home to anyone planning to stay in the area.

Long weekend at wintergreen/Route 151

Our family came together to celebrate our grandson’s 21st birthday. 7 adultsThe home was clean and cozy. I’m usually the one that cooks when we go on trips like this and the kitchen had everything I needed. We enjoyed the big comfortable living room with a cozy fireplace. The open concept was really great, we could always see each other whether we were in the kitchen in the dining area or in the living room. The weather was nice and we did enjoy some time sitting on the porch. Everyone in our group felt very comfortable and was surprised how nice it was. We went down to route 151 to go to some breweries, wineries and distilleries both Saturday and Sunday. This was very convenient. I experienced great communication with the host and had no problems during my stay. i would definitely recommend this property and I hope that I get a chance to stay there again.

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the house. It was fully equipped with everything we needed and was the perfect size for 2 small families for the weekend. Loved the proximity to the slopes and the remote feel we had while at the house. The only thing we saw that could be improved is the bath towels had a musty smell to them. I would suggest bringing personal towels next time. Also the upstairs bedroom with bunk beds really needs a night side table.

Our stay was exceptional. The cabin was clean with a fully stocked kitchen, and lots of personal touches throughout the home. Our hosts were responsive, and gave us some great tips. We had a great Christmas!

Beautiful Cozy Home with comfortable beds and couch

Comfortable, well appointed home

We really enjoyed our stay at the house. The kitchen had all the equipment you would ever need. The sectional in the family room was very comfortable and the dining table had a nice view of the woods outside. It poured one of the days we were there and we got soaked. Really appreciated having a washer and dryer. Two minor issues: 1) a few of us found the beds too soft, but that's a personal preference, 2) the third bedroom with the bunk beds could use a night stand between the two beds so that you don't have to put your phone, glasses, etc on the floor.

Family time

This home was so clean and cozy! Our family really needed a weekend away in the mountains and this home was perfect. Beautifully decorated and well stocked for our needs. The primary bathroom shower was great. We appreciated all the thoughtful touches. My boys’ favorite memory was relaxing in the hammock together :) A great VRBO experience! Thank you!

Quiet Cabin on top of the mountain

Our family of 6 adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. In fact, my family were blown away at how nice the place is and looked at me with awe. Which, for a dad is priceless! The owners are very generous leaving a snack basket with sparkling fruit juice and a variety of savory and sweet snacks. These came in handy on our hike through the Blue Ridge Tunnel and on return from several outings. They also are generous with their toys, leaving all sort of entertainment items out for guest use. The cabin is just as presented in photos. It sits off the road enough to almost make you feel like you're alone in the middle of the woods. The one caveat to all of this is that the community does not allow motorcycles to enter at all. There is a large sign at the entrance directing motorcycle riders to report to the police at the gate. They even have a lane devoted to this purpose. Thankfully, my bike was down for maintenance or I would have been forced to leave it at the front entrance and walk the 4.6 miles and over 800' elevation change up and down the mountain. If this was mentioned in the description, I totally missed it upon booking. If you aren't a motorcycle rider looking to enjoy the area, this is a five-star location.

Nice Touches

We really enjoyed the nice touches! From the gift snack basket, soaps, chocolates, and other amenities. Many places we've stayed only provides the bare minimum supplies and you can barely cook a meal for your family. This kitchen was fully stocked with what we needed to prepare a proper meal! The owners were also very communicative and helpful with suggestions. We loved our stay!

Wonderful Cabin

This cabin is absolutely wonderful!! Very clean, comfortable, and organized. It is stocked with everything you could possibly need! And the owners are very responsive, helpful, and friendly. I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a great trip to Wintergreen Resort!

Great getaway

Cabin was fantastic to return to after full days visiting historical Virginia and hiking. The kitchen is well supplied and great to cook in. We had a fabulous visit and plan to return!

the cabin was nicely decorated and cozy. well stocked and clean too! we enjoyed skiing over the holiday weekend with our three boys and two of their friends. seven slept comforably between the three bedrooms. bunk room was great for kids!

Perfect get away

Beautiful cottage, would recommend to anyone. Very clean open floor plan. This is what you expect when you book and it did not disappoint when we arrived! Will stay at this cottage again!

So fun!

Five ladies went to spend a weekend in Virginia! We saw a bear but not to close to the cabin! We loved the rocks out front. Everything you could possibly want was available. Personally slept in downstairs master bedroom. Most comfortable bed and the shower was amazing (you could set the temperature). I’ve stayed at several VRBO. This might of been the favorite!

Girls’ trip!

We needed a weekend getaway after a tragic start to our summer. We try to do this every year but especially this year. We lost a beloved son, nephew, boyfriend and friend in a car accident. This cabin was perfect. It was clean, efficient and comfortable for us to have some girl therapy. Thank you for such an inviting home. The best part was how everything was labeled down to the light switches. Truly the mountains refresh the soul. The hiking trails within seconds from the cabin are beautiful. Also we are TRULY sorry for interrupting you at a crucial moment at your daughter’s wedding. We wish the bride and groom many years of happiness.

Great property

Excellent communication with owners, clean property, fantastic location- kitchen was well stocked, great for cooking family meals- nice layout of the house- close to community pool, only a brief walk- comfortable front porch for AM coffee- would definitely stay again!

All the comforts of home!

We were visiting VA to attend a wedding in Afton and needed a place to stay for five days. At the very thought of being cooped up in a double-queen hotel room, we decided to check out vacation rental homes to see how they compared on rates. We were delighted to see that for just a little more than we would pay for a hotel suite we were able to upgrade to a 3BR private rental home ~ it was worth every penny! Not only is the house immaculate to begin with, the owners supplied many of the basics such as sheets/towels/toilet paper, dish and laundry detergent, hair dryers etc.; also provided were basic pantry items such as foil, plastic wrap, paper towels, salt/pepper, sugar and so much more. The house even had a wonderful fireplace that helped keep the house cozy warm. In addition to the living room area, there are large tv's in each bedroom. The kitchen appliances are brand new all around. No matter where we ventured out for the day, we would always look forward to coming "home". Finally, I have to mention - because everyone does... - the master bathroom shower is absolutely to die for! No kidding. The other renters are not exaggerating. It is amazing. A special thank you goes out to William for making sure that we had everything we needed. His warm and friendly personality was the cherry on top! Thank you, Scott and Keli, for really putting your heart and soul into making your home so welcoming for all to enjoy!
