Kookaburra Lodge is located at the end of Skyline Terrace, Burleigh Heads nestled amongst the trees and nature. It is less than 10 minutes drive to Burleigh Heads Beach, Trendy James Street with cafe's and restaurants and only 10 mins to the pristine Tallebudgera Creek.
It 5 mins to the M1, Stocklands Shopping Centre and David Fleay Wildlife Park.

Perfect location

David made us feel very welcome, the accomodation is a generous space and set in beautiful surroundings. Our family was very comfortable and would love to stay again next time we are in the area.

Excellent getaway home

Excellent place, friendly host. Enjoyed being able to feed the Kookaburras daily. The location was nice and secluded which allowed viewing of the local birds and wildlife.

Beautiful home in a great location

The house is beautiful and perfectly set up for a great stay. It feels like you are living in the forest while being a short drive to the hustle and bustle of Burleigh Heads. Highly recommend.

Nice site in the Burleigh hills!

Overall the stay was great the site is well positioned and the wildlife in particular was spectacular. The amenities we're sufficient for our needs and the site has plenty of space for everyone's belongings and for family gaming. Cleanliness was the only point of issue for my partner and I who value a clean low dust home but we understand commerical site's can't always be maintained to the same standard.

Kookaburra Lodge lives up to expectations

A wonderful stay at Kookaburra Lodge enjoying the balcony with close up and personal visits by the local bird life. A few young Kookaburras were quite brazen with stealing bacon off our plate. Even though we attempted to shoo them away from the table, they quickly dodged our hands and managed to steal part of our breakfast on 2 occasions. We are concerned bacon isn't ideal for native birds and not a scenario that should be encouraged. Its a special enough moment when they sit on the railing.

Gorgeous location, fantastic accommodation

David’s space is absolutely gorgeous, we were floored when we entered! Nice and spacious, lots of windows for natural light and to take in the amazing surrounds. Very well equipped, with all the amenities you could hope for (and then some!)., making it easy for us to prepare meals in the apartment (nice to save a bit while travelling!). Large shopping centre is only a 5min drive which is super helpful. David was very friendly and also gave us plenty of space to explore. Would absolutely stay again.

Away from the city noise, tucked away in the hills

If you want somewhere away from the noise of the city to stay, this is it. A great little 2 bedroom unit. You still have Wi-fi and TV, or you can sit on the deck and say hello to the Kookaburras and King parrots that come to visit. Note: if you want to walk to the beach or shops this is not for you. You will need a car, but it is only 5 minutes drive to the local shops and under 10 minutes drive to the beach. We enjoyed our stay and welcomed coming home to a quiet relaxing place after busy days doing tourist things.

Spacious and comfortable

There was plenty of room with 2 bedrooms separated by the living area. A lovely leafy outlook in a nice area and very friendly host. Definitely a drive to get to the beach, but close to shops.

Enjoyable stay.

Ok for adults. One bedroom is a lower room under upstairs. [owners residence] All condiments provided. [coffee, various teas aswell. A dvd player would have been good.

Lovely rainforest hideaway

We really enjoyed staying at this comfortable home. It had everything we needed to enjoy some peace and quiet in the rainforest. It was well equipped, furnished and we loved the views out through the trees. Thanks for a great stay David & family!

Absolutely lovely

Property was in a super quiet area at the end of a long road, 3/4 of it was surrounded by bushland so there was a lot of wildlife to listen to and see around especially on the back deck. Property was very clean and well maintained, had plenty if utensils, soaps etc and some great reading selections. We stayed for a week after a hectic week in FNQ so the change of scenery and local area was a very welcome and relaxing choice. Will definitely return. David was a fantastic host, met us at the door and communication was exemplary.

Peaceful and private

We really enjoyed our stay. Our hosts were great. The accommodation was spacious with a wrap around deck complete with a gas bbq and outdoor dining option. The place was clean and well appointed. Simply a delight. Would certainly recommend it.

Not quite what I expected

The accommodation was on the lower level of the owners house but completely self contained and clean neat and tidy with a sizeble living area but a small TV and a ceiling fan the didn't work. Bush setting relaxing.

Quaint accomodation close to town in a tranquil location

A great little place to stay on the gold coast, backing onto a large park, complete with possums and other wildlife. David was a great host. Will definitely stay again.

Everything you need and some

This home is 5 mins from a Stockland Mall, 7 and 9 mins from great beaches, 10 mins from wonderful restaurants, 17 mins from the airport and 25-30 mins from Movie World and Sea World. The owner is lovely, accommodating and keeps to himself but ensures your stay is perfect. The house has all the necessary facilities and even though you are so close to the beaches, you are living in a forest! I stayed with my 5 year old and we will definitely be back. Thank you David!

Best Feature is the back deck for the view and the birds.

Amazing location in nature but still close to everything

David is a great host, he always made sure we were happy and had everything we needed. It’s a beautiful spot, big inside and has a lovely big balcony to enjoy the serenity. I would definitely stay there again.
