This place was great for our group of 8 friends coming from all over. The elevator was great to have because we had a couple folks with mobility challenges. Spacious, well stocked kitchen, comfy living room, large property and very clean. Great location and tho close to the road, got very quiet at night except the sounds of the ocean! Curious about the walk to the beach, it was along the road with no shoulder - nota great walk and would need to drive with little kids! Would stay there again.

It was a beautiful spot and enjoyed our stay. Only suggestion would be to fix the two blinds that are broken and make sure the dehumidifier on first floor is working. The floor was damp because it hadn't been emptied.

Quiet Getaway

We found ourselves quite content. We could sit and watch the ocean, enjoy the beautiful yards, go for a hike or enjoy the beaches. Located equi-distant from Sunset Bay and Basendorf beaches, just a short drive to Shore Acres Gardens one way and Seafood the other makes for a happy day.

Beautiful View

Our family had a great time. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Love how homey the house was, and how comfortable the beds were in the 3 bedrooms. Wish there would have been more TV's, but that's neither here nor there. Our family enjoyed beach and house time. The only thing that could have made it better would be if the house came with more outside activities. Since back yard is so large and has nothing to do in it. But all in all we had a get vaca. Would definitely come back.

Great spot to get away from the the City

Five minute walk to the beach and historic lighthouse. 5 minute drive to coffee and groceries. Plenty of room for 6.

Better than a Motel

Love the elevator, the upstairs open living, dining room and kitchen. With lots of windows and a limited ocean view. Did not like not being able to close all the drapes at night, and the heating system works well downstairs but poorly upstairs. It has a great back yard. I would stay there again some time. We came to watch the last round of king tides at shore acres state park, which is a couple of miles from this rental, too bad the road at Norton Gulch was closed due to flooding.

Read before renting

BAD THINGS: First night our boat was parked under the overhang, our 6 gallon fuel tank full of fuel was stolen. We had reserved a slip in the Marina for the remainder of the time.When we tried to use the propane tank to boil our crab, it was empty. We had to take it in and pay $30 to fill it. Our last night there with the boat back from the Marina, parked in the driveway, our boat lights were unscrewed and someone tried to remove them!The dials on the stove are all worn off and it was hard to determine what was on high or low. The blinds in the bedrooms (dirty) need to be replaced. The blinds in the upstairs and downstairs rooms were bent or ripped. Air vents need to be cleaned.There were spots on the solid color light brown rug throughout the house. We were only left 4 rolls of toilet paper and 2 on the roller that were 1/4 left. We had to go and buy more. TV only in the downstairs area. None in the family room off the upstairs kitchen.Good Note:The backyard is beautiful and serene and peaceful. The new elevator was very nice compared to the older narrow spiral stairway.There were spices and miscellaneous things in the kitchen. Alot of pans and dishes.The couches were comfortable. They need a few more in the downstairs area.

Minimal obscured ocean view. Elevator only interior access to downstairs so you are isolated from downstairs. No tv upstairs. .

Great location but Stove did not work correctley

The property was in a great location with a great back yard. The stay could have been better if the stove top control numbers could be seen and the burners did not get so hot. It was very hard to cook on. The bath tub diverter did not work and there was no way to plug the water so kids could take a bath. The host was very nice. Hope the stove and tub shower will get fixed so I can give it more stars next time.

Not recommended for families

Safety issues include: oven was not functioning, shades pulls throughout house were dangling, outdoor railing space was wide- not up to code,switch for downstairs shower was behind the water heater and a unit marked ‘hazardous’, Light above downstairs bathroom sink was two bare bulbs.Outdoor chairs were rubbish, dryer filter was already packed with gunk/lint. I Bedding for pullout was stained, had holes, pillow disgusting…I can provide pictures to substantiate the above if needed

Multi-Generational Family Reunion

The house was well-equipped and provided beautiful views of the ocean through the full windows in the front room. The back yard was stunning! A lush retreat for play and photos. The kitchen is well-equipped with good quality pots and pans -- it had everything that we needed for our stay. The location was great, as well. Far enough from the city to be peaceful and close to the easy trails and spectacular views of Cape Arago. The property manager was responsive to requests and the home was 'generally' clean. Cleaning crew missed old food in dresser drawers (then again, why would anyone keep veggie straws in a dresser??). Though clean towels were hung on the racks, extra towels and linens (for the sofa beds) were disorganized and hard to find; Extra pillows and blankets were on the closet floor; basically looked like things had been thrown into closets and cabinets at the last minute just to get them out of sight. Complimentary toiletries were a nice touch! All in all a fantastic property! (just needs a better trained cleaning crew)

Wonderful coastal home with beautiful yard!

We loved staying in this home! It was perfect for our two families to share! We loved exploring the pathways in the backyard. The elevator was a fun edition and we appreciated all the amenities and extras. We loved sunset beach and it was very close by!

More than we expected

Was a great property to gather the family. The yard was massive had we brought kids with us to play in it. Quiet street, even though house sits next to it. Appreciated the elevator to transport things up & downstairs. Was thankful the power didn't go out during the awful storm we had. Would have been inconvenient taking the outside stairs in the driving rain. Was so surprised at the amount of clamming & crabbing equipment furnished. Even though pots were mentioned, we brought our own cage type, as we don't like open rings. Was very pleased with the rakes, floats, even boots available. Had we been more successful, we'd used the outdoor cooking equipment also. Would certainly rent again!

Salmon fishing vacation

We were able to park our 22’ boat and pickup in the driveway. Close to boat ramps and the house was very comfortable and worked out great for our group.
