Escape to Forest Escape, a peaceful Fawnskin cabin surrounded by pine trees and just a 10-minute walk from Big Bear Lake. This cozy 800+ sq ft retreat features a king bedroom, sleeper sofa, fireplace, large back deck and a quiet North Shore setting.

Slow down and enjoy the natural beauty of Big Bear. Spend your day hiking, biking or boating, then return to relax by the fireplace, grill dinner on the deck or unwind among the trees.

Inside the cabin
The comfortable open living area features cozy seating, large windows that bring in natural light, a fireplace and Smart TV. Fast WiFi, board games and a dedicated workspace provide added comfort and convenience.

The fully equipped kitchen includes the essentials for preparing meals during your stay, making it easy to enjoy a relaxing night in after exploring the lake and surrounding trails.

Charming cabin with modern upgrades.. right in the middle of a beautiful forest surrounded by big trees, the silence was awesome…everything was great, highly recommend, especially for two people.

Truly a Forest Escape

1164 Crags Ln - Our Stay from 03/10-03/12

I planned this trip with my girlfriend and we had an amazing time in our cabin! We're so grateful for the experience, the surrounding area is so gorgeous we spent a good amount of time on the deck looking at all the birds and chipmunks zipping by. All of the amenities in our cabin were great and the heater kept us nice and cozy inside. Overall we would definitely book another stay here, it's a fantastic getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your home. :)

Beautiful cabin, surrounded by a view of trees. Really big bed, everything was clean, and a tv with all the apps (we watched our fav show). I loved the big deck outside and the orange accent on the outside of the cabin. So idyllic.

Great place!

My best friend and I needed a quiet retreat so we were thankful to find such a nice space! We enjoyed how close the cabin was to the lake and other activities but also how secluded it felt when we were in the home. I understand this is a rental property probably used more often in the cold months but the one thing that was hard for us was staying cool inside. The main part of the cabin has a nice fan that does a pretty good for circulating air but down stairs we had a rough time getting to sleep without a similar air flow. It would be nice to have a fan for the downstairs during summer months.

Pretty property, but needs some work for future guests

It was very cute, but I’m disappointed for the price I paid. The living room furniture was cheap, hard and uncomfortable-fashion over function. The leg of the couch was broken when we arrived and would collapse if I sat down on it. And all the windows looking at the view were dirty and smeared with little kid hand prints from whoever was here last. Little details like a place to hang your coat, drying rack for the dishes or a nightstand on either side of the bed are missing. We stayed in winter and could only find one extra blanket, which was covered in stains. The view is beautiful, the kitchen was good and it is cozy, but given all the issues I found it incredibly overpriced.

Infested

My husband and I rented those after starting a week at another cabin, we extended our stay an extra night due to the weather. We could not rent the cabin we were in for another night so we just picked the next cabin on the list of our travel app without looking too much into it (it was pouring rain and we just wanted somewhere to relax). It was a beautiful cabin but it felt almost abandoned. I walked through multiple spider webs going down he stairs to get to the cabin. All the doors except for the front door was also covered in spider webs, dust and very obviously hadn't been opened in quite awhile. We could not use the downstairs porch without spiders quite literally raining down on us. I actually breed tarantulas at home, but this was just ridiculous. In the check in instructions it has told us to call for an exterminator if needed, but only staying one night, it seemed pointless . Nothing on the property has been cleaned, the side of the cabin was littered with trash and oddly a bunch of empty ketchup packets everywhere and cigarette butts. My husband and I ended up spending the late afternoon cleaning up the property, clearing the spider webs and catching and releasing the spiders from inside the home and the porch. This cabin would have been amazing if it was cleaned and well maintained. Very very disappointing.

Good stay

It may be because we have never visited Big Bear before that our stay was a little wonky - but not bad. The property itself looks newly renovated and mostly clean. I was a little put off by dirty fingerprints all over the light switches, thermostat and doors (looks like kids may have stayed there prior and drug their hands down the bathroom door) but since everything is very new it was easy to just wipe these things down. Right when we got there, I did find several large spiders right in the open - but to be fair it is the forest, spiders exist and you can’t really keep them out. They didn’t attack us, so besides the initial shock - it wasn’t a big deal but be warned (again this is big bear so maybe I just wasn’t aware). The parking situation was a bit sticky. They note two vehicles will fit - but I can’t see how this is possible. The parking is on a slope and it gets narrower as the slope goes down. We have a truck, so I know this is a larger vehicle than most - but honestly going to big bear most people have trucks and recreational vehicles and just note it is VERY hard to park off the road in this spot. Especially since there was ice across the slope and the vehicle slipped unless put in 4 wheel drive. We managed but wish we had warning. Also it is noted that snow/ice removal is guests responsibility - and we tried, but almost fell several times when we got there because it was dark and the ice was there prior to our arrival. We did try to shovel it off the next day but we would have needed salt to keep it from icing over again, and our stay was too short to make that happen. It would have been good for the property to have been salted prior to our arrival - but again maybe this is something one would expect in big bear. Also I would like to note there is no central heating - maybe also common in big bear. The heater on the main floor works GREAT! However in the bedroom downstairs it was a bit confusing. There is a space heater on the wall that was strange to turn on and didn’t produce much heat. We had found an additional space heater in the closet but when we tried to plug it in it did not work. We did make a call to the office and they came right out (very nice and friendly) and let us know the space heater did work but two of the outlets did not, and that was the problem - so be aware. After that was straightened out the room did get warm. All in all it was a fine stay - just a bit confusing.

1st Post Quarantine Trip

This was our first trip since our year and a half quarantine and a lot of bf orders for our toddler. This was an excellent place to get away and relax. Fresh air, cozy house, clean, and safe. Thank you for a great stay to get us back out into the traveling world!

Short Summer Stay

My husband and I had really lovely time here! Lots of great hiking nearby. We didn’t get a chance to go to the lake due to the rain, but had a very cozy time waiting out the summer storms in the cabin.
