Lovely condo in Maui

We absolutely loved the condo. It was central to so many of our activities in Maui. The proximity to the beach was great. We really loved the little sandwich shop/bar on property. The condo had everything we needed for our week long stay.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been to Sugar Beach many times and it is always wonderful! This unit needs some upkeep compared to others on the property we've rented before (furniture, shower etc.), but the location is worth the older building. We are already planning next year's trip!

The washing machine was a bit “off”. It wouldn’t let us choose cold water and it didn’t want to fill. I think the dryer needs a vent clean (in the back. We have been to Sugar Beach before and would choose it again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We booked at the last minute as a celebration of our 30th anniversary and arrived late at night. We found it easily, but didn't know which building we were in. I think one building is even-numbers the other odd. Signage might help with that, but we found our unit quickly and entered with the code. It was a breeze.The unit was clean and had absolutely everything we needed. We bought a weeks worth of groceries and felt very at home. We would definitely stay there again.

We have stayed in various condos at Sugar Beach for multiple decades and have enjoyed all of them. The beach, the pool and the views are second to none. Condo 425 has the same uncompromising view from the excellent lanai as any condo, but when inside relaxing things need some attention. The couch and chair have seen better days and need to be replaced. The carpet needs a good cleaning or replacement. Most of our time was spent on the lanai so these were not major concerns to us. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean and worked properly.

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Furnishings we're mediocre; uncomfortable couch and dining chairs. Residents in the condo below us would fight, drink and yell all night; like living next to a fraternity. We have stayed at the Sugar Beach condos numerous times in the past and have never had such a bad experience. For the cost that is charged, it's not worth it and we'll probably not stay at the Sugar Beach Condos again.

My Sugar Beach Review

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The view from our Sugar Beach Condo was awesome. Could not have asked for a better location. The condo itself was a bit dated. The air conditioning system worked but did not efficiently cool our bedroom and our bathroom. The presence of room fans in the bedroom and living area indicated to us of a cooling issue. Also, there were no beach chairs to take to the beach. Plus the two small lights on either side of the bed did not work properly. They would not go on leaving us with only the vanity light to see. Our experience was great but could have been a little better with a few upgrades.

The units are old and worn out. Needs a face lift.Paint and carpet. WE took 3 other people to sugar beach in another unit. WE were all disappointed. We will never stay here again nor recommend it.

Beach Front Location and Centrally Located

The property is in a good, central location and right on the beach. The view was great and very easy access to a great walking beach. The unit was disappointing. It looked like it hadn't been updated for 30 years, the carpet was dirty, the furniture looked like it had come from the most basic discount warehouse, the closet was only 1/2 usable as the other 1/2 was filled with "stuff", the upper shelves in the closet had a lifetime supply of linens of only "fair" quality, the bathroom and kitchen were very dated, the utility closet was filled with paint. The pictures were very deceptive. For the price paid this unit should have been much more inviting. When we walked in we were ready to leave. The view made up for a lot--but-- we would not rent this unit again unless it was completely updated.
