Peaceful retreat nestled in the woods

The hosts were incredibly easy to communicate with and responded quickly to any requests. The house is beautifully situated in the woods, offering plenty of privacy and quiet. We especially loved relaxing on the deck, surrounded by trees, with a cozy fire going; it was the perfect way to unwind.

The location is not close to slopes, but it was ok. There are plenty of sleeping spaces (8), but the house did feel cramped. The kitchen table was too small to accommodate even 5 people comfortably. My husband was very disappointed because he couldn’t grill steaks and burgers due to the dirty and rusty grill grates. We had to go to our daughter’s house, which she rented five minutes away, to cook instead.Communication with the hosts was poor. We arrived early and asked if early check-in was possible. They only asked for the house address and then stopped responding. A simple yes or no would have been appreciated.We’ve stayed at this resort many times with family and friends. Unfortunately, the house we usually rent was unavailable for our dates, so we had to choose this one. Sadly, there were many issues that disappointed us and made our stay uncomfortable.

Wonderful Girl's Weekend Getaway Spot

We had a group of 4 of us ladies that booked a weekend getaway at Wintergreen so we could relax and hit up the local wineries! Check in/check out was a breeze and communication with Diana couldn't have been smoother, she was very responsive! The home was spotless and cozy in every way! Location was perfect, nestled right in the mountains of wintergreen but accessible and close to all our favorite winery spots! Wintergreen resort which is only a 2 minute drive had a wonderful breakfast spot called the Copper Mine for breakfast to get your day started right! Absolutely loved everything about our weekend! Highly recommend this place and look forward to coming back again!

Convenient Stay on WG

Easy in, easy out, responsive management. Cool property, fits multiple cars easily, nice outdoor deck spaces. Cozy bedrooms but the layout worked great for us with two couples and a single. Kitchen worked well for two working together, all the basics were there. Comfy furniture for chatting and playing games or cards. Would stay again!

Awesome place to unwind at Wintergreen

My family of four and I decided to get away for a little while before they return to college. We have never been to Wintergreen before in the summer so we thought we would try the Shenandoah Valley place is exactly describe as a surprise and amount of room as it is fully furnished on two levels. There is a beautiful deck out front and plenty of seating to just enjoy the peace and quiet. There are a lot of other interesting, wineries, and breweries just at the base of the mountain when you’re looking for something to do. There’s also a great hike just a few hundred meters from the driveway.

Perfect spot for relaxation

We absolutely loved all of the deck space and really enjoyed the propane fire pit on the cool summer evenings. Layout of the cabin worked well for us. It would be nice if the was comfortable seating for 4 upstairs, but that wasn't a great big deal for us as were outside most of the time. The trailhead down the street led to a fantastic hike with a gorgeous view from the top.

The upper loft with the spiral stairs is smaller than the picture made it appear. None of us felt okay sleeping up there since the stairs would be tricky/dangerous to navigate in the dark to use the restroom at night. I'm sure little kids would love it (just not 40+ year olds😂). Thankfully we were able to be creative and bunk up together. Upper crust pizza delievered quick the one night we ordered out. Also, no bears spotted - just squirrels, birds, and a very busy woodpecker.

Peaceful getaway

Property was spacious and clean. Property had all we needed. Grill was a bit dirty so we chose not to use it. We wouldn’t mind staying again if we could.

Excellent stay at Wintergreen

My mother and I took our old dogs to Wintergreen for a Thanksgiving get-away. We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Cozy 'Hillside Hideaway.' The pictures and descriptions were very accurate, and the place was in GREAT condition. The neighborhood was quiet and accessible and we enjoyed the area and nearby attractions (vineyards, breweries, Monticello, Charlottesville). I would like to give a special shout-out to the local representative of the management team of this particular location. Diana went above and beyond in her communications and sent me a sentimental item left behind via mail. I cannot express how grateful we are for her kindness and how responsive she was in problem-solving and general requests. She is AWESOME and we would highly recommend staying at any place she manages!

Perfect Getaway!

We enjoyed our stay beyond what we can express. We booked this cabin for my granddaughters college graduation in Lynchburg. This was the most beautiful stay we could have booked. It was perfectly cozy, spacious, and a breath of fresh air. The mountain up to the cabin was quite the surprise but such an adventure to experience with the family! My grandchildren enjoyed the trails close by with the mountainous views. We had everything we needed in the cabin and all the instructions were laid out for us. Awesome hosts and even greater location. Be mindful of leaving any trash outside the bears will eat it, LOL! This was one getaway to remember. Oh, before I forget-- THIS CABIN HAD THIS COMFIEST BEDS EVER! Can you tell we enjoyed it?

Fun Family Getaway

This spot was perfect for our younger kids with entertainment and functional options. The 10 a.m. checkout time is rough, considering you won't want to leave! Asked for more time but didn't hear back. Had a great time though!

Family Ski Trip

We enjoyed our stay very much, and would consider staying here again. The house is very clean, great beds/bedding, awesome outside deck. Our teens had the lower level bedrooms and tv/couch area to themselves, while we had the main floor king/smaller tv area, and our little one loved the loft. Some photos online were different then what were actually in the house. The dining table was different and smaller, but they added a small sofa to the main level which was a nice surprise. The 2 main reasons for selecting this house was the dog friendly policy and that it said it was walking distance to the resort. Thank you for allowing our pup, there was no bad smell or evidence of other dogs. If driving was an issue with bad weather, yes you could walk to/from the resort and it’s much closer than many other homes in Wintergreen. But the kids could not walk there daily with all there gear which was what I had hoped for. I highly recommend this home for a family.

Great Location!

Very beautiful location. The cabin was exceptionally clean. The kitchen was well appointed. The bedrooms were small but the beds were quite comfortable. Overall, a very enjoyable stay!

Amazing experience! Will be back!

Booked this cabin to surprise my roommate for her birthday with some of her friends and family. The cabin was very cozy, very clean, and it made for an amazing experience, especially since we were stuck inside the whole weekend due to bad weather from Hurricane Ian rolling in as we arrived at the cabin. We are already talking about when we can book the cabin again, have a longer stay, and get to utilize the outdoor spaces!
