Great location

Great stay, there were lots of spiders which might be normal for that location but other than that wonderful spot with lots of room for the family.

Beautiful view of lake, clean and well-laid out house. Caught fish from the boat dock. Kitchen was well-stocked with cooking gear and appliances.

Wonderful place. Five star plus. Outstanding amenities and was stocked incredibly well from kitchen spices to plenty of plush bath towels and extra linens and blankets We were amazed at how well the kitchen was stocked- dishes, glassware, pots, pans, appliances etc. even coffee! There were lawn games and outdoor chairs. The house itself was roomy and clean, located right on the lake with a wonderful large yard, fire pit, hot tub and covered boat dock not to forget the gorgeous lake & mountain views! The place is truly outstanding and the host is readily accessible and responsive. Check in was simple. We had an absolutely wonderful time with our family of all ages and hope to vacation here again. Highly recommend this home. Have stayed at numerous vacation rental homes and this one is top notch, top of the list.

Beautiful view of the lake, but not clean

When my husband and I arrived at the house we were excited about the location and view of the lake, but the house was filthy. Sheets in the master and one bunk bed had not been washed, there floors were filthy and food on nightstands and coffee table. We had to go get cleaning supplies and get everything cleaned up before our family from out of town arrived for the long weekend. Once cleaned, we had a great time, but I would not stay here again. Also, we tried reaching out to the host all weekend via phone and text and we never heard back until two weeks later with an email.

Great Lake House, uncomfortable beds

We had a great stay, and this house met our needs. Pros: Kitchen has everything we needed, down to a cheese board. Plenty of space for our group of 10. 2 car garage. Laundry. Plenty of linens and towels. Cons: beds and pillows were universally uncomfortable/soft/worn out. The bar stool counter slopes down unequivocally making it difficult to eat up there. Things you may want to know: (1) Bathrooms are small and ill-placed for how many people the house can accommodate. For example, the queen bedroom and the bunk bedroom are all on 1 side of the house so up to 6 of us were sharing 1 bathroom while 2 ppl shared the master. (2) If ambient light bothers you, this house may be a struggle. The high windows do not have shades/curtains, so difficult to make rooms dark for kid bedtime - we made it work, but some people/kids may be more sensitive.

We enjoyed our stay, primarily for the good water access, private yard with a nice view of the lake. Nice that kids could walk into the water easily, no drop off (water socks needed due to rocks). Also need shoes on the metal dock surface. Would be good if there was a swim dock or ladder and watercraft available e.g. kayak/canoe/paddleboard. Nice flat lawn area with shade from the house most of the afternoon. Lawn game would be a good idea, corn hole, badminton? The firepit was oddly located on the edge of the lawn and there was no seating for it. The stairs to the hot tub were a little dangerous, rough edged rock. Chairs on the dock would be good. The interior of the house was very clean, but the deck had a lot of spider webs. Also lots of spider webs on the covered boat dock, just kind of creepy. Also the listing should note that there is only A/C in the main living area and one bedroom. There should be fans in the other bedrooms. The kitchen was adequately stocked, but the spices were expired and the wine opener was broken and rusty. small things but also easy to correct. Also there were only 6 chairs for the dining table, since the house sleeps 10 there should be at least 8 chairs. Another drawback was the road noise and skylight in the master bedroom which made it difficult to sleep. Listing photos should be updated to show the hot tub, deck seating and the beach front.

4 generation getaway

Great grandma, mom and dad, all the kids and our 1st grandbaby, age 1, wanted an easy drive from Seattle to a lake. Bellingham offered many options and we settled on the Blue Hydrangea house on Lake Whatcom. Easy access on main floor for GG and mom's walker, who is disabled. Navigating downstairs to the lake was challenging but doable with assistance. Deck was a nice option with a sweeping lake view. We brought our portable, suction grab bars for the master shower, but a grab bar near each toilet and in the main shower would be a nice addition. We love the cozy and firm mattresses but challenging to get into even for my 6'4" husband. Maybe a step stool in each bedroom? Galley kitchen was great for preparing meals for 9. The overhead fan is loose and fell out of ceiling after dinner the first night, and is missing the lights. We managed just fine. Sooooooo many puzzles. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Susan

Great view!

Excellent view and location on the lake! We loved staying here. Enjoyed private hit tub and lawn on the lake shore with dock. Would be even better if they had some boats. House has lots of windows and sky lights, which adds light late in evening and early morning. Well stocked kitchen and laundry room for a comfortable stay. Comfy beds.

This place is awesome! We all had a wedding to go to and needed a place to sleep a lot of people. It slept all 12 of us comfortably and with ease. The place is clean and had everything we needed to cook, take showers, play board games and the best part it was hot out and it being right on the lake could swim anytime night and day. Pluses were plenty of parking and very very nice kitchen to cook in. I will definitely stay here again!

Lovely lakefront home!

We had an amazing stay at Blue Hydrangea. The location was great- perfect for enjoying the lake and a variety of outdoor activities. The home itself was clean and very spacious; cooking was made easy with the pretty fully stocked kitchen. Thanks for having us, we would happily return!

The pictures don’t show how expansive a view of the lake is! Radiant heat makes it cozy & comfy.

We were taking a tour at Western Washington and wanted to stay in the woods instead of town. We also did not want to stay at a air b&b. And we are so glad that we stayed here. Bring sleep masks if you want to sleep in. Thank you for sharing your home!

Fantastic House & Location!

I would highly recommend Blue Hydrangea! The house is exactly like the pictures.. clean, well stocked, the view is amazing, & the space lends itself well to groups & individuals. Brian was extremely communicative, gave us weather updates on the day we arrived, had a cute sign welcoming us by the door, & allowed us to check out slightly later, which was amazing, since we were a group of mums having a break for the first time in years & got to sleep in! Kitchen is well stocked, there are some games & puzzles, but would also say bring your own or cards, & tons of towels & everyday items. You really don’t have to worry about much! Would highly recommend & will definitely bring my family back again in the future!

Great lakefront location

We really enjoyed our stay at this house on the lake. It's right by the road so you can hear the traffic a bit from the back yard however inside of the house you don't hear it at all. Kids would like to come back.

Short family stay

Home was immaculate and perfect for our needs. And we enjoyed the closeness to the water - brought our own kayaks and boards and children had a wonderful time - (No equipment available at home.) Great access to biking trails. Would definitely come again - as there were activities for all ages. Suggest also having a supply of wine glasses on hand. And we were able to cook on the stove's grill - rather than use the charcoal grill - and the oven wasn't working.
