Zoe’s Lagoon is a sweet retreat! Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate this peaceful hidden gem
Howe island is popular with cyclist, kayakers, fisherman, bird watchers and those escaping the hustle and bustle of city life
Howe island is located on the St. Lawrence river at the western entrance of the magnificent 1000 islands between the historic city of Kingston and gem of a town, Gananoque ❤️
Plenty to see and do in both for everyone’s taste from boat cruises, 1000 islands playhouse, outdoor concerts, Kingston prison tours, Ft. Henry visits, golfing, breweries, many excellent restaurants………..
You’ll love Zoe’s Lagoon for it’s sweeping St. Lawrence river views from various pretty points on the property and in the cottage.
Swimming is superb with shallow entry, mix of sand and rock shoreline. Children love the sand and building inukshuks.
This charming 900 square ft cottage is under an acre and just steps away from the waterfront.
Peaceful setting, surrounded by mature trees for privacy. Imagine falling asleep to the sound of the wind and waves. Set away from the main road = no traffic noise, minimal light pollution. Perfect for moon and star gazing. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
Enjoy an abundance of birds and wildlife like otters, minks, blue herons, loons, swans, osprey, deer, owls, fox, racoons.
There are 3 hammocks, outdoor benches, 7 Adirondack chairs, 2 fire pits, 2 kayaks, 1 paddle board(use at own risk) Recommend bringing own life jackets and water shoes (old adult LJ for use)

*no stores on Howe island, recommend bringing food and supplies
*2 public ferry’s on demand, short crossings, $10. return

*cottage is set up best for 3 adults max
*recommend solo travellers, couples or small family, (property not child proof)
*use at own risk ( kayaks, waterfront, SUP)

*no air conditioning, usually nice breeze from river and lovely swimming, no currents

Quiet, peaceful & great view of St. Lawrence

Very much enjoyed staying on Howe Island overlooking the St. Lawrence River. Very quiet and peaceful setting. Short trip to historic Kingston and Gananoque.

Wonderful Cottage Getaway

We had the best time at this lovely cottage getaway. Totally charming with beautiful views, lots of outdoor hangout areas, fire pits, and it’s own beach. The water was insanely clear and there are even kayaks and a paddle bird! We will definitely be back!

Awesome Summer Week at Zoe's Lagoon

We spent a week here in late June 2025. The place is private and surrounded by nature, with many trees for birdwatching and relatively few neighbours. The house itself is well kept, everything worked as expected and was clean. The highlight is the sunken sitting area with lots of windows overlooking the trees and waterfront. The waterfront has a sandy beach with easy access for swimming. No dock, so not a place one would bring a boat to, but this wasn't an issue for our group. We canoed up and down the shore, with multiple sightings of fox, deer, bald eagles, cormorants, herons, loons, and mink. Definitely a place we will consider coming back to!

An awesome getaway!

This was our first VRBO Experience and it was fantastic, Josephine was very responsive and made the whole experience even better than we had imagined. Zoe’s Lagoon is an amazing place to get away from it all. Stargazing, SUP, Kayaking, swimming, multiple fire pits and lounge areas make it a very special place…don’t forget the outdoor shower! I think our only complaint is that the week went by too fast!

A Peaceful Visit

Zoe’s lagoon was a delightful property with stunning views of the St. Lawrence. The waterfront was great for swimming and paddling and the tiered property had many different seating areas which provided sun or shade as needed. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable and the hosts were quick to answer any questions. A lovely stay.
