Good communication with the property owner. Cabin was older but cute with plenty of sleeping options. Washer and dryer were great to have. They had plenty of supplies for us (extra garbage bags, soap etc) and AC in every room which was nice. The maps to get to the private lake access were hard to understand and the one that did pull up is closed right now due to the fire. There is also only one parking pass for the lake access and too many of us to fit in one car. We chose to just go to the public access park. Close out was simple and easy. Hot tub was clean and awesome!

Great and Simple Cottage

This was a great cottage in a beautiful area of Hoodsport. Check-in was really easy and accommodation was accurate to the description. Communication with the property management company wasn’t the best. I emailed and messaged them through the app, but got no response. I had to call them to get some questions answered BUT once I called, they were quick to respond.

We stayed Friday- Sunday late afternoon. The house was well equipped and a good fit for the 5 people that stayed. The hot tub was nice but does face the road. Having said that, it was fine for us. We also brought along our dog and having arrived there discovered the fenced in yard wasn’t as stated. Large portions had fallen down or were missing completely.There is also a resident behind them that has 3 German Shepard’s that bark a lot.This wasn’t an issue for us but something to note.Having said all this I wouldn’t bring a dog here but the house itself is very nice and fully equipped. I would recommend bringing your own Face towels since there weren’t any and laundry soap since they want u to run a load before u leave.Other than that very pleasant.

The property had a wonderful kitchen and the bedrooms upstairs good sized. The photos are a little deceptive as the carpet and bathtub are rather worn. The owner was very responsive when we came across a few snafus.

Birthday Getaway

Me and my wife stayed at this wonderful little house in the Lake Cushman area. Our stay was wonderful and relaxing. We got in a couple of hikes in the beautiful Olympics and had a nice relaxing time with some hot tubbing and puzzles.

Quiet cottage in the woods

Lovely cottage surrounded by trees. Plenty of space for a family. We had an enjoyable family weekend. Good communication from owner. Access to lake Cushman. The only things i would note is that two of the bedrooms are on the 2nd floor and the stairs are narrow and steep and the hot tub is in front facing the street. Fortunately not a busy street.

Beautiful Home in Beautiful Place

We truly loved our stay in this lovely home. Would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Lake Cushman. The location was quiet and perfectly located within minutes of the lake and Hoodsport. The house is spacious with more than enough room for our family and 6 and dog. Highly recommend!

Not bad, could be better, wouldn’t do it again.

Pros: love the playroom for kids The location is good The living room area is nice The layout of downstairs was nice for managing kiddos Jayson was responsive Check in was super easy Check out process was not too much Cons/needs improvement: No washcloths provided No laundry supplies provided The mat under the carpet upstairs is so thin it is basically nonexistent. The dishwasher worked, but is on its last leg. The tub has a repaired crack in it that made the tub feel like it wasn’t very stable when showering. We could never get the air conditioner in the kitchen to work and with only window units available the house got very hot. The house never really felt clean. We’d see odd food stains- not from us. Randomly step on sticky stains- not from us. Touch an area of the counter that was also gross- not from us. The property has great potential, but definitely needs some work.

Not great

The owner is pleasant, communicates, but not quite forthcoming on condition and cleanliness. Housekeeping is done as well as it can be. Some things aren’t under control of housekeeping. What isn’t okay is that the listing is quite strategic. The remodel is odd, and rooms are actually closets converted into “rooms”. The kids room is a closet with two twin mattresses on the floor. The second bedroom barely fits the bed. I don’t know if it was an attic or closet… Carpet isn’t secured to subfloor and is absolutely filthy. Very little room outside. Very small lot. The washer is filled with mold. We ran the washer sanitizer cycle twice to try to make it usable so we could at least utilize the facilities. It was marginally better. No laundry soap provided. All of the towels reeked of mold. You will get 11-14 minutes of hot water. We had 6 very low maintenance people who just wanted a quick rinse after a day at the water or hiking. At best, 3 of us got warm water. Tub badly cracked. Sink barely drains. This brings me to the hot tub. It’s unusable, murky and not maintained. We have a hot tub, so I’m not unfamiliar how the tub should appear or smell. I was not comfortable exposing my family to a clearly unbalanced ph and who knows what else. It did occur to me that people may be literally using it for washing due to the hot water situation. The dish washer runs but will not clean your dishes. AC is portable units that are very loud.

The location was great, very beautiful views in the area. It was a good location for what we wanted to see of Olympic national park. We traveled late on the first day of our vacation and didn’t arrive to the Vrbo until almost 11pm. We were all exhausted and ready to sleep, when I went to the room and pulled back the cover to the bed the sheets were very clearly not clean. The last thing I wanted to do after traveling all day was to have to clean the sheets. Most of the dishes were still in the dishwasher, the dishwasher was loose from the counter and needs some maintenance. The whole place could use some general maintenance. The entire downstairs has no curtains and we felt like we had no privacy as we could see outside into the neighbors houses and yards, not something that was mentioned in the description of the place. The tub has a crack in the bottom of the tub that felt very poorly repaired. The hot tub cover was clearly in bad shape and the water was dirty so we didn’t even use it. The floors needed mopped, and the stove has damage to the front burner that looks like some of the glass is missing. I am very big on the cleanliness of our vacation stays and this one very clearly needed a deeper cleaning than it has been getting especially when you charge a cleaning fee. Other than these issues we did enjoy our vacation.

Cozy cabin in the woods

Enjoyed the cabin as our home away from home while we enjoyed Lake Cushman. House was clean and very comfortable. Enjoyed having access to all of the lake parks too. Didn’t get to use the hot tub due to overwhelming chlorine smell.

Great spot,okay place.

Definitely one of those places that looks better in the pictures than it did in person. Keep in mind, we are a family of 6 with four daughters ages 7 and down to 11 months. Pros: Wonderful spot, close the lake and the canal. Quiet neighborhood, with a well stocked kitchen (plates, pans, utensils and a high chair). Decent mattresses and nice TVs. Had a bin of toys for the girls to go through. Enjoyed the fire pit. Cons: Carpet was crunchy and think it was missing the pad underneath. Upstairs toilet barely worked, grill similarly was very rusty and must be manually lit on one side. Dishwasher never worked for us. Shower floor has a crack and is very soft, we were afraid to put too much pressure on it... Stairs are super steep so be careful with the little ones. Overall: I would say this could be a really nice place with a little more investment and updating. I don't think we would plan to stay here again, but could be a nice place for older kids or just adults.

Sister trip to Olympic National Park

Cabin was accurately reflected in real life. Very quiet neighborhood. Beds were very cozy. Ample towels. Modern kitchen with large refrigerator. Excellent communication with owner when needed.

A few recommendations for other guests

My family and I had a nice stay at the cottage. I would highly recommend the hot tub to be hot and ready for use when guests arrive. We were able to check in early which I really appreciate that but when we arrived the hot tub was off and not clean. The cover to the hot tub needs to be replaced. A huge amenity I look for when picking out a vacation home is a hot tub. I was very disappointed to arrive and not be able to use the hot tub our first night. The listing has BBQ grill listed so we were planning to use the grill but the whole grill was too rusty to actually cook food on. We stayed 3 nights and I noticed there wasn't enough coffee, just barely enough toilet paper for two bathrooms, and no hair conditioner in the shower. They have a guest binder put out with descriptions about the house one of them was they have written down that they leave all things needed for smores for their guests. We only found the smore sticks for roasting. No chocolate, marshmallows, or graham crackers like it says in the binder. The neighborhood is nice and quiet but there is no lake access you have to drive about 7 minutes for Lake Cushman public access. We really enjoyed the disc golf course only 2 minutes away. Overall we had fun and it was a nice getaway with our family.

Friends Getaway

This was a great place for a getaway for old friends. The house was very clean and had plenty of space for four of us to spread out. Jayson was very responsive and helpful and facilitated the perfect getaway. The quiet community is perfect for walking, and the hot tub and fire pit were cozy to come back to after our daytime adventures. We had a great time and would definitely stay again!

Charming Cottage for Family Getaway

Our group had 4 adults and 4 children (2-9). We enjoyed the quiet location, separate family room where kids could hang out (basketball game was big hit), record player, hot tub, pass to nearby Lake Cushion, and fire pit.
