Highland Valley Cottage 1

This modern cottage has everything you need for a perfect holiday in Bright. Highland Valley is a complex of 6 units, set in peaceful park-like grounds with the added bonus of a pool for guests to use. The cottage is spacious and modern with new furniture, crockery, cutlery and bedding, a reverse cycle split system and smart TV's, it is bright, modern and comfortable. This property has Wi-Fi.

Located only one kilometer from the center of Bright you have everything you need close by plus more. Take a ten minute stroll to Bright’s restaurants and shops, adjacent to the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail and very close to the Heritage Canyon Walk along the Ovens River.

This property is managed on behalf of the owner by Bright Holidays (part of the Dickens Real Estate group).

Fully equipped kitchen including a coffee machine, electric cooking and a dishwasher to make cleaning up easy!

Spacious loungeroom with lots of couch space to enjoy the 65-inch smart TV at the end of a busy day exploring Bright & surrounds. WIFI is available.

HEATING & COOLING
Split system heating and cooling and electric blankets on the beds.

BATHROOM
Bath, shower and a separate toilet.

OUTDOORS
Plenty to enjoy outdoors at these cottages. At the cottage itself you can enjoy your own private verandah. In the warmer months, you can relax by the 10 metre, in-ground, salt water communal swimming pool while the kids go for a swim.

Holiday stay

Was a beautiful time in Bright, especially in Autumn! Location was close to the city, but road noise was loud at night. Pool had duck poo on tile edge, so unusable unfortunately. Very neat, very clean and had all the amenities we needed, including a little not to access Wifi!! Thankd!

A couple of suggestions: provide fans for the bedrooms, as it's quite hot at night and give the unit a thorough spring clean, as there was a lot of dust under the beds & on the fly screens, which is not great for people with allergies.

Great Place

This place was perfect for us, its location allowing true ski in/out was fantastic. The apartment was extremely well stocked and exceptionally clean. I hope we will get to return next year.

Very nice place to stay

It was a very nice unit, with good features inside. The outdoor decking could do with a blind for privacy from the next unit, but otherwise we really enjoyed it. The pool and surrounds were nice. We enjoyed the proximity to centre of town which allowed us to walk around and sample the sights.

The Apartment is clean and tidy, although near to the main road, but we did not notice any traffic noise. Will be good if the apartment comes with WIFI, also the shower needs a rack for placing shampoo and soap. Overall, the stay was good, but slightly over price for it's location.

Weekend away

Villa stay

Easy check in / check out with collecting keys from lockable box at realestate. Distance to Main Street of Bright was approximately a 1km walk. Villa was large, modern and clean. Plenty of room for a family of 4. The villa was located close to the main road but this didn’t bother us. There was also a small pool which would have come in handy in weather was better. BBQ also available for use, although this area looked unkept. Would certainly stay here again and would recommend to others.

Ok, but listing not accurate & maintenance issues

Bright & surrounds are lovely and we enjoyed our holiday. But the accommodation listing was not accurate. There was no secure shed for our bikes - this was important to us and a reason for booking this property. The advert said "veranda with own BBQ" - there is a communal BBQ. The advert also said there was a playground - no there wasn't. There were some maintenance issues with faulty electrical equipment - the Agent was responsive to most of these - but would not act on the weekend and we had to wait till the Monday. The Agent made the point that if previous guests don't tell them what's wrong there is nothing they can do - not much good for us though. The cottage was on the main road which was a bit noisy, but I knew to expect this given the location and a previous guests review. The cottage is in a great location, not too far from the Bright shops and great access to the bike path between Bright & Porepunkah.

Ok, but could have been better

Bathroom was dusty and the floor was dirty, there were also a number of holes in the walls throughout the cabin. After checking out I received numerous voice mail messages from the real estate, when they eventually answered my return call I was told that I made one of the holes in the wall. This was definitely not the case and although was cleared up relatively easily, was not particularly appreciated. Parking for cabin 1 is also somewhat inconveniently located compared to cabin 2. Overall the stay was acceptable. Bed was of a decent quality although pillows were too soft for my liking

Modern comfort in the heart of Bright

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We travelled from Cairns Qld and wanted a modern, centrally located place of accommodation for our 5 night stay in Bright. As a family of 4, including 2 teenage sons, the cottage was very spacious and adequate for our needs. A few very minor issues - the heat lamp didn't work in the bathroom (for us Far Northerners it would have been nice); there was only 1 pot for use on the stove top - and it was a big pot, the smaller pot was missing (lid there but not pot); only 1 rubbish bag left for use in both bathroom and kitchen - it's a small thing, but rubbish bags aren't something I think of buying ever, and with a family of 4 there is always a fair bit of rubbish(especially when we cook). I only found the coffee pods on my second last day - but was very grateful for the generous supply of tea and coffee for the week. Having washing powder, salt and pepper and oil was a bonus - these are things you don't need to buy for 5 days but are always very handy to have on hand.Supermarket was very close and town had an abundance of places to eat.The cottage was warm enough with the reverse cycle air-con and the bedding was adequate for us to keep warm in such cold temps. A great little place and i would return again - but maybe in the spring or summer next time - we have done our bit of freezing for a while!

Exceptionally clean & tidy. Well appointed in the kitchen. Fresh clean linen.

Great distance to main shopping area, although very close to the road so a lot of loud traffic noise. Advertised with Wifi but didn’t have it and correspondence telling guests not to ring the emergency No about it. 😡 Linen was from a linen service which was great however no towel rails or hooks in the bathroom to hang them. Fan over the shower needs some adjustments as it was so loud when turned on that we ended up not using it.

Very clean,good beds and bedding,cosy,great bathroom,laundry, except for a missing soap and shampoo holder,danger of falls and broken limbs bending for fallen soap etc, Light rug in TV area has a lifted lip,again a trip danger. Two pillows per bed would be an improvement.Limited saucepans(one that I could find) However quiet and comfortable
