Great home for kids. Quiet cozy neighborhood.

Had a great time and the house had a good layout. Its an older home with older furniture and bed spreads, but the shower was updated and the beds comfortable.

Perfect for Lakepoint!

Perfect location for Lakepoint events. Quiet house, comfortable beds, and a nice living room with plenty of seating. There were also several deer who stayed “with” us in the side yard.

Private and peaceful

Very quiet neighborhood with all the amenities for a week stay. The bedrooms didn’t have television but everything else was definitely like being at home. The home was clean and very close to some really good restaurants. Would recommend to stay.

Home Away From Home

With eight people staying for two nights, this home had plenty of space. It was clean with everything we needed to live comfortably. Being in a quiet neighborhood was also a plus.

Convenient slice of country

My husband, son (13), in-laws and I enjoyed our stay at this home away from home. It’s conveniently located near restaurants and shops. The house had all the amenities and supplies we needed in order to make our stay successful. Plenty of parking and room for kids to roam. I would highly suggest this property.

Beautiful peaceful location

We stayed here with our three children, two teenagers and a younger boy. There was plenty of space for everyone, inside and outside. Everything we needed was in the house. We would definitely come back.

Great country respite

We enjoyed the quiet and rustic spot, which reminded us of going to grandparents' cabins in our youth. Well-stocked, clean, spacious and neat. Loved to sit on the patio rocking chair. Six of us appreciated this country living experience for 4 days.

great option for the area

We were happy with our choice to book this property when we had a family wedding in the area. The owner was great to work with and allowed us early check in as we arrived early in the morning from Alaska. The owner was prompt and helpful. Nice older home

This is an older home located on a large lot in Acworth. The home has been remodeled and is in good condition. The home came supplied with everything you would likely including need including linens, paper towels, TP, and nice dinner settings. The living room furniture is older but comfortable. Owner was very accommodating offering to provide a BBQ grill if wanted. Check in and check out were very easy. Home is close to lake for recreation and to town for supplies or eating out. Much better than staying in a hotel. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Cockroaches

The location is perfect in regards to downtown Acworth. The pictures are outdated. There was a musty smell throughout the house along with pet odor trapped in fabrics like the bedding, couches, and curtains. The odor is so strong that all our luggage and clothing smelt like the VRBO when we returned home. We also killed two cockroaches in the couch as well as enjoyed our morning coffee with some little guys daily. The place just needs a really great cleaning, some updating, and also fumigating.

Hi Sam, after going over your feedback with the homeowner, they wanted to share the following: -"We kindly disagree with you as all the bedding is washed after every visit. We don't recall any pets staying in the house before your visit so we are unaware of any musty smell you are referring to. The house is very dry including the basement so we do not know what smell you are referring to. -Being next to a large forest and a creek, we are constantly battling bugs. The house seems to be pretty tight all the way around so we do not know how they are getting in. We are trying several different pesticides to control the bugs. The house was bug-free until the cold spell hit and then they came inside. Surprisingly, we do not see any bugs in the basement and since we don't hoard food and the house is regularly cleaned, we do not know why they are even there. It must be a warm place to stay. We have fumigated the basement several times but do not fumigate the first floor since this is where guests stay. We do not think the house needs updating. We think it is a very nice home with great facilities. Thanks for your feedback. We will continue to work hard to provide an ideal experience for all guests!"

Needs updates

The property just needs some updating the furniture couches were very old and made it very uncomfortable to sit in the family room had a moldy smell because of this. Small updates would make a difference like new shower curtains, night stands next to the bed instead of chairs for lamps to sit on. When you first walk in the old moldy smell hits you and makes it very unappealing..

We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following: -We're sorry that you were uncomfortable with a scent in our unit. We were not aware of such an issue but we are considering this feedback so that we can manage the problem in the future if needed. Though, we want to confirm that there is no mold in our home; the basement is dry and always has been. -The furniture is not too old and in good condition; we don't believe that it contributed to the smell but we're sorry if you were uncomfortable. Also, we replaced the shower curtains soon after your departure. Thank you for bringing that to our attention. We are considering your feedback regarding the other furniture upgrades as well. Not what we exoected

This weekend was very disappointing We walked into a very bad smell Every day we were there we had roaches on kitchen counter, going up wall and in bathrooms Last few days had lot of black ants We left our things in suitcases so wouldn’t bring them home The grass wasn’t cut all the way and shrubs covered front porch which was a good thing since it didn’t have blinds in LR and kitchen I wouldn’t recommend staying here at all

A Touch of Country

We looked for something near the wedding venue, which this was. The drive in, though, felt rustic and "in the country." Upon entry, it seemed a little more rustic than the photos led me to believe. But I quickly settled in and realized that this felt a little like going to my grandparents' cabin years ago. The living room is spacious and neat. The kitchen in well-stocked with supplies (though our wedding events didn't allow time to use the kitchen, except to make coffee). The two bigger beds were quite comfortable. We appreciated the commitment to sustainable living with a vegetable garden out back. The porch with rocking chairs was such a peaceful place to relax. We were a party of six, two of our kids and their partners, and all of us appreciated a homey spot in the hills of north Georgia.

Smelled like mold in house

Not clean Black mold in shower - toilets had ring from water - we had to wash all linens before we could sleep in beds because of smell of mold - took me one hour to clean shower of BLACK MOLD- Advertised as sleep 8 only slept six - Dishwasher did not work and Steve knew about this because he had a note inside dishwasher and there were Cockroaches in dishwasher-TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT AND I feel I should be re-embarked the cleaning fee at Lesst as Vrbo I would remove this from your listing Sincerely Douglas Missack I probably will never use Vrbo again

I’m not sure how this was ever rated a 5. It’s an old house that has a distinct odor. Many reviews have pointed it out but the owner denies it. It was a clean house however the furnishings are extremely dated. The beds have a plastic mattress cover on them which is extremely uncomfortable. The grass to the fire pit was up to my knees. There wasn’t any curtains on the windows in the living room that faces the owner’s house. There were many DVDs for kids but no DVD player. There were many toys, like doll house, race track, but no dolls or cars. There was a coffee pot, but no coffee. The property was secluded and deer frequented the yard in the mornings and evenings. That was a treat for the grandkids.

Hi Shannon, The homeowner was surprised to read your review, as they are accustomed to providing 5-star experiences, and would like to clarify the following: - Thank you for choosing to stay in my Acworth, Georgia home and leaving a review, as guest feedback is vitally important to the success of my vacation rental business. - The house has lovely hardwood floors. Additionally, I recently had new flooring added to the kitchen and bathrooms and new carpet to the bedrooms, and the walls painted. - We clean the home thoroughly with Mr. Clean so we don't know what smells you may have experienced. There should not be anything in the house that has an odor. We wish you would have told us while you were staying there. - Evolve used professional photographers to take photos of the home, so all decor and furniture you see on the listing are as advertised. Guests will determine if our property is what they are looking for before booking it. - I have mattress covers for the protection of my guests, which I clean frequently. - The yard has been mowed and will stay mowed for the rest of the summer. - We do not live on the property. My sister decided not to add curtains to the living room so guests could enjoy the great view of the yard. The rest of the house has heavy curtains and blinds. - We will remove the DVDs as the new TV doesn't have a DVD player. We truly go above and beyond for my guests and am confident that future guests will have excellent stays!

Great quiet place.

My family and I enjoyed our stay very much. Everything is exactly as described, we did see previous reviews about the chair seating, and also agree, the chairs do not feel sturdy enough for adults, they will hold an adult but, it does feel like they could just fall apart. The owner, was very communicative, and extremely accommodating. The one thing, I would recommend, is, having a water hose available. We wanted to use the fire pit but I was too nervous, because there didn't seem to be any real stop between the grass in the fire pit and the rest of the yard. Without a hose at the ready, I didn't want to risk a fire getting out of hand. The house was great, we loved being able to have our kids and our dogs with us while we traveled. It is in a convenient location to the things we needed, although they are currently having some construction on the roads right outside the house. The beds were comfortable, the couches were good. We loved that there was a pack and play already there, as well as a few toys, just less we had to pack. Our family very much enjoyed the front porch, and being able to watch the kids play in the yard. We have already been looking to book this house on our next trip to Acworth.

Rented this house on Monday, for arrival on Tuesday. Tuesday AM owner sent a text saying, there was a leaking pipe, I guess he didn’t realize it was still listed for rent. Offered us another rental on site…but from what I can tell, no discount or refund has yet been given for our over payment. Due to the ER situation we took the 2nd site. We were disappointed. Good house if you have small children or pets. It was okay. Owner had a food recycle bowl in frig, that we wash and his food in the freezer. No bathroom fan or window shades in bedrooms or bathroom. Wood floors pretty, kitchen not really a good set up for cooking. The odd thing was, the house , we had originally rented with the leak in the pipe, had someone staying in it. Steve was nice…hope he will refund our over payment.

Hello Linda, thanks for letting us know about your stay! The owner wanted to address the items you mentioned: - We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience of having to switch your rentals the morning of your arrival. The two houses are the same price so there was no discount offered for the switch. The water leak was in the yard and we notified you as soon as we noticed the leak. We are glad we had the additional home to offer and that you accepted it on such short notice. - When people leave non-perishable, unopened items on the property, we keep them there for future guests. The large clean bowl in the refrigerator is for food scraps we add to the compost pile. - Window shades are not necessary as the windows are on the second floor and people can't see in. There are curtains throughout the house. - The design of the kitchen is one of the most coveted parts of the home as guests tend to love the layout. - There was no one staying in the home with the leak as maintenance was there to fix the leak. We appreciate your feedback and we are confident future guests will have excellent stays!
