Cozy lakeside cabin 30 minutes from Waterton National Park

Our bungalow style cabin has 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed, a bathroom with a double shower, a large open concept kitchen/living room and a natural gas fireplace.

It is located on a 13 acre pond beside The Great Canadian Barn Dance, which is 1 hour from Lethbridge and 30 minutes from Fort Macleod, Pincher Creek, and Waterton Lake National Park.

Non motorized water sports are allowed on the lake, so you can bring a canoe, kayak, paddle board, etc. It is also great for skating/pond hockey in the winter. Swimming is not recommended. 5 minutes down the road is Cochrane Lake which is ideal for fishing. 10 minutes down the road is Waterton Reservoir which has a beach for swimming. There are plenty of hiking trails within a 30 minute drive.

The lake is shared with The Great Canadian Barn Dance which at one point hosted music camps, water sports camps, and other events throughout the summer. (Currently closed since Covid - unsure if it will reopen)

This property is pet friendly EXCEPT for cats as our family is allergic.

Rural escape outside Waterton

This cabin was a peaceful retreat. It was a bit far from Waterton, but the excursion into the countryside was a welcome adventure. The cabin itself was still in its dusting off stage from the winter. Despite that, it was clean and quiet and provided everything we needed for our stay. The lake was beautiful but not one we would swim in. The hosts left clear instructions in a binder, and thus we felt confident to take care of the home and enjoy our vacation. The communication via the VRBO app prior and post our stay was crickets. So, we were a bit unsure of how the stay was going to go. Nonetheless, everything worked out well and if we are in the area again, we would consider this for another stay.

Great cabin near Waterton Lakes NP

We had a great time at this charming cabin! Would recommend highly to anyone. The cabin itself is very nice and well equipped, and the views of the rockies are beautiful. It is very close to Waterton Lakes National Park and also to Glacier NP in Montana. Great place to stay at to visit the parks!

Great cabin

The cabin was perfect for exploring waterton lakes (30 mins) and glacier (1.25 hours to many glacier) national parks. It was well-stocked, beds were comfy, and it’s right on the pond. We enjoyed sitting on the deck for dinner, drinks, and games in the evenings.

Nice little place

Property was nice, easy to find and good place to go "home" to after a day of exploring. Few things they could improve on for their guests but overall it was good for us.

Our Stay

We really enjoyed our stay here. Very close to Waterton, which was awesome. Internet wasn’t very good but was not a problem because we were busy. Also suggest another couch if more than three adults one adult had to sit on the floor, which was still OK because it was my husband and he can sit on the floor once in a while. 😅
