One to avoid, we couldn't leave the place fast enough

We were a group of family members congregating in Liverpool to scatter the ashes of 3 deceased relatives. Despite the photos showing a lovely house it is in reality a badly maintained student house share during term time. We were a party of 15 including 5 children from 4 to 12. This house would probably be fine for hen and stag events but not for a family grouping. Issues: A trailing socket and wiring left in the hall at the bottom of the stairs, we advised the manager who told us to leave it, despite this being a major health and safety issue with the children. The main oven didn't work, and there was very little cutlery (although they did offer to pay us to buy some more). One of the shared bathrooms was out of order. The ground floor lights fused during the evening and we had to wait while the manager contacted the people in the basement flat to reset the fuse, but as soon as the lights came on the Virgin TV feed stopped working. The password provided for the wifi connection didn't work. There were several blinds and curtains missing. The radiator in the lounge was permanently on despite it being July. We spotted mice on the kitchen floor twice on our first evening. We had planned to stay for 3 nights but couldn't get out of there fast enough after just 1 night. So a very expensive stay and we were only in the house for 19 hours. With some proper maintenance and TLC this could be a lovely house, but it hasn't had either and therefore isn't.

Fantastic house for large groups!!

This house was PERFECT!!!! Just what we needed for a hen party group of 19 girls!! Absolutely huge, loads of space with the 2 living rooms and the big kitchen, perfect for group dining. Bedrooms were laid out perfectly and beds were great, loads of bathrooms made getting ready to go out easy!! All utensils, towels, bedding etc provided. Ideal for large groups & great location about 10 mins in a cab/ 45 mins walk to the train station/ town centre. David was really responsive on messages & couldn’t have been more helpful. Highly recommend

Hen do weekend

Fri night - 2 x toilets had bowel movements that looked like they'd been there for days. Toilet on 2nd floor was leaking through to the 1st floor bathroom and down to the ground floor hallway - safety hazard. Contacted owner, did not seem concerned that we had to deal with this and clean up the mess. No instructions for a very complicated oven. Had to contact owner for detail. Access to the garden was locked, even though it's advertised in the listing. Sat morning - no hot water in 5 bathrooms due to boiler issue. 14 ladies had to shower over 2 electric showers when there were 7 showers supposed to be available. No response from owner till 3hrs after trying to make contact. Which was too late as we were out for the day. Owner was not apologetic at all about the oven, the leak or the boiler. Contacted him through the app after our stay to highlight the issues we encountered during our stay. Had no response back at all.

This is obviously a review that doesn’t correspond to the reality, after investigating all the “issues” it was found the following: 1. There is no issues with the toilets whatsoever. 2. The reason for the leaking was a misuse of the bath, the have flooded it while taking a shower which caused the leaking downstairs. 3. The oven is a standard one, we don’t find anything complicated about the use. Is like using a toaster, but still I went through the step to step procedure to explain the use which at the end they managed to figure out. 4. The key for the garden was provided in the same set of keys. 5. The boiler was deliberated manipulated, the handyman went and corrected the set up. 6. The times they were contacting me were at the same time they were partying in the hen do, I only picked up the message when I woke up. As much as I try to respond as soon as I get a message, I can’t be awake 24 hours a day. Lastly, they blackmailed me to leave a bad review (which they did) if I didn’t give them a compensation for the “issues” they have created for the sole purpose of seeking taking advantage of my hospitality. Obviously they didn’t get anything from me as no fault or service shortfall existed. I will definitely never welcome this guests back, they house was also left in a mess after their parties.

Hen girls gathering

This house is fabulous for a gathering. Well equipped, comfy, lots of space to gather together and easy to taxi in and out of the city. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms! Steve was great at responding quickly and helping with queries.

Great house, perfect for a hen party!

I would 100% recommend this place. The house was spacious (for 14 of us), clean and had absolutely everything we needed. Stephen was also very informative and helpful.
