Tahuna - Large, spacious and comfortable home with views of the ocean and estuary

Please note for New Years bookings you must ENQUIRE first before booking as we have different requirements for this period.
'Tahuna' means seaside in Maori and this large home on multiple levels has breath-taking ocean and estuary views and it is a short stroll to the surf beach and Picnic Bay. With multiple living areas and bathrooms, and decks on 2 levels, it is ideal for families or mature couples! Tucked up on a driveway off Wintle St, it offers close proximity to all the action whilst providing a quiet Oasis to retire to. With kayaks available to use in the estuary, a playhouse, table tennis table and a hammock in a shaded spot to chill with a book, this property ticks so many boxes. Enjoy soaking up the rays on the large deck or sit inside and you will still be able to enjoy the magnificent views from the kitchen, dining room and living room.
This is the perfect house for a large family or even 2 families to enjoy their time away together, sharing the same house but with enough space to not feel crammed in!
Notes:
1. The bedding configuration is now slightly different to the photos as there is an extra single in one room and the Sofa bed has been replaced by a Queen bed.
2. Please note that the spa and garage are not available for guests.
3. There is a fully secured gun safe in the garage that cannot be opened without the access code
LINEN OPTIONS: To keep your holiday more affordable, for this property we offer linen as an optional extra for guests who prefer to bring their own. If you choose to bring your own linen, you will need to supply top and bottom sheets, pillowcases, towels and bath mats. Pillows, Duvets and Duvet covers will be provided.
Alternatively, a rental linen package is available for $25 per person. To request this service, please add a note to your booking specifying the number of people requiring linen and which beds you would like prepared.
BOOKING PAYMENT: Although your credit card details are taken during the booking process, we won't automatically charge your credit card. Once your booking is approved we will send you a payment email with a choice of credit card payment (a 3% surcharge applies) or bank transfer (no charges).

Short stay in May

The place is huge, definitely a great set up for several couples or a group etc. Amazing views, amazing fireplace, ping pong table was so much fun! Negatives - the water pressure is poor, and the whole house was musty smelling, especially downstairs. Dishes were not very clean.

Lovely spacious house with beautiful views

This property was perfect for our group of 2 families. Spacious and well equipped. Great location and excellent communication with property managers. The table tennis table provided a lot of entertainment and we all enjoyed the views. Thank you for a very comfortable stay.

Nice big house, great for a larger group, affordable and close to the sls club and beach

We loved the space in the house, the space to park 7 cars, the open kitchen, the table tennis. And we especially loved the spectacular views and the big deck. It was raining so unfortunately we couldn't use the outside. The only things we think can be improved, is the dishwasher. It hadn't washed the dishes much and there was no manual to see what we might have done wrong. The PM couldn't help either. Also, the microwave didn't work.

Perfect

We were absolutely thrilled with our stay. We all collectively agreed it was one of the best holiday rentals we had ever stayed in. Such an entertaining view. We all love cooking so it was thye perfect spot for cooking and socialising in. We also loved being able to stroll down to the beach or river mouth every day. I couldn't recommend this place more highly, and would love to come back.

Awesome spot.

lovely spacious ,beautiful views ,had some fun with the table tennis. Would have been valuable to have some more info on the tv/stereo setup...more user friendly...Dishwasher not working, upstairs bed light not working, dining table light flickering...electrical fault...would have been nice to make use of the spa. with all that said had a great time ...thank you book a bach for making it so easy.

Family getaway

The Bach is as portrayed on website - stunning views, excellent facilities and off street parking, Beds very comfortable and bathrooms large and clean. Our group had 3 couples and the extra privacy from their bedrooms onto small deck areas meant everyone could have their own spaces if they wished. We have rented multiple baches in Mangawhai heads and now only book through book a Bach as Dave and the Bachstay property staff are superb to deal with.

Perfect in Every Way

From the location to the views to the property itself, Tahuna is perfect in every way. We lived in the Caribbean for seven years and Tahuna was like stepping back to those days. Couldn't fault anything about the place!

Spacious, comfortable, easy

A wonderfully spacious home to relax and enjoy the company of friends, whilst admiring the beautiful view of the Heads and coastline. Great location as we were able to walk to the beach and clifftop walk. Recommend for any group of adults or families with school aged children - not for little ones as there are a lot of stairs and potential for falls. Quiet and peaceful, great decks. We also loved the birdsong. Thank you so much for sharing your little piece of paradise with us.

over all good

We had a great time house was more than adequate. Not enough crockery for amount of people that could stay. Plus lot of the crockery was chipped when we got there. We had a great time playing Ping Pong no winners. Beach was lovely weather not so much but we still got out and did things. Pity nobody can control the weather.

we booked for wedding accomadation and it was perfect. we also had a table tennis tournament. easy walk to the beach one thing was oven didn't get to temperature over a 2 hour period which was a little disappointing but they did have a new air fryer to finish the spuds

Big family home with lots of doors.

It was lovely experience. The house was pretty big. Kids had a table tennis table which kept them busy and away from their phones. Just a stroll away from beach. Plenty of room. The only suggestion that we can give is that one of the rooms didn't had door qnd it does not have a dryer. Except for that a wonderful place with magnificent view.

Great location

Great spot with fabulous views - big house with room to spread. Loved the 5 minute walk to the heads. Would love to stay here again. Property manager was really helpful when we arrived late - had house warm and external light on
